Ummm....I'm in love...

** Scroll down to see Day 1 of the Verve Anniversary peeks!**

I've officially crossed over from Cricut Land to Cameo World and boy it is nice over here!  I sold my Cricut this weekend and took the plunge.  It got here yesterday and with the moral support of several SWEET friends (and Amazon Prime 2 day shipping), it got unpacked, plugged in, downloaded and going all with in about 20 minutes.  And then I made this...

This is a Silhouette file from their store.  It was only 99 cents and with the help of my sweet friend Jackie, I turned it into a card!  OMG.  This thing is easy, amazing and fantastic all rolled into one.  I cut the file all on cream cardstock and the colored the different parts with markers.  (Something I learned in the fabulous "The Cut Above" online class! Yes....I haven't owned it for 24 hours and I am already done watching most of the videos!)

I'm going to enter this card into the Cameo Spotlight Challenge.  It's their first one and I'm really excited to link it up!  I hope you get a chance to play too!  If you have a cameo, go make something and link it up!

I have to send shout outs to Steph Washburn for being my constant texting friend during this purchase (and all of last week!) Ha!  And to Steph Mino who gave me a list of HUGE tips!  This camper is for you girl!  :) (Why does that sound like an Academy speech?)  I guess I'm just overly excited. New crafty tools are so much fun!  :)

  1. Absolutely darling. Congratulations on taking the plunge and welcome to the cameo club. All I can say is make sure to buy extra blades and mats now in case you need one asap because sometimes I've found them hard to find in any local store. One week without your cameo can disastrous. Wink wink.

  4. This is soooo cute! I have recently decided to take the plunge and save up for a cutting machine. I was going to get the Cricut, but someone recently told me about the Cameo. I look forward to seeing more posts that you do with this machine, because I do think this is the way I want to go. I feel it will be cheaper in the long run with the way they sell the files.
Please share anything and everything that you learn with this machine! LOL! I am watching! :)

  5. HOW CUTE!! OOooo wow ~ this reminds me SO much of a camper my hubby's folks had when we first started dating!

  6. I bought a Cricut about three years ago and consider it a big splurge. I love using Sure Cuts A Lot software and feel like it customizes my scrapbook pages and cards in a great way. However, I am disappointed when cutting small, intricate designs, and would love to "re-splurge" on a new cutter.

Please keep the Cameo info coming. If I buy a new cutter, I want it to really be the right one.

Do you use SCAL, by the way?

  8. Oh, my gracious! This is ever so sweet, Laurie! LOVE that yummy aqua, coral, and brown, too! Have fun with your Cameo! I can totally see me moving to something different, too. I just don't use my Cricut like I should, but Lord have mercy! Those machines are pricey!
