Lucky me!!

Long time no see!  I finally sat down for the first time in a week or so, and made a card.  I have been on a little Spring Break vaca in Colorado with the family.  Incredibly needed and now I am feeling like I can tackle the rest of the school year.  The kids needed a break too and are currently in bed....but have told me many times they don't want to go back to school.  Well....I want them to go back to school.  :)

SO, on to the card....I found a little inspiration seeing my friend Heather's cards on Pinterest.  I can't link to just one but if you follow her blog, you will see what I mean.  I love how she used little splashes of stripes in her cards...either with washi or stamps.  I added a little washi, a little splatter and a little watercoloring all in one here....

The butterfly die cut is from a Papertrey set called Life is Beautiful.  The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson called Fancy Thanks.  I added in some Copic Mist and some splatter and then added the stripped washi and gold sparkle washi to finish the card off.

OH and I almost forgot the butterfly.  I used some Tim Holtz watercolor paper and just did a little rainbow painting.  Then I used cut the die out and attached it to the card front.

So that is it for me today.  Lots of new and some news coming up soon!  Thanks for stopping in today!

happy new year!

Stopping in with a quick CAS card just in time for the New Year.  I have been seeing Laura Bassen's gorgeous masked blending cards, so I thought I would give it a try with some Delicata Gold ink.  I wish I could capture the shimmer on this card.  It is so pretty in real life!

I masked of the top corner and then stamped this sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Bring on the Merry.  I won't bore you with my love of ampersands, so I will just say there was no way I could mask it off.  I have started collecting them in large sizes here at home.  I have no idea why I love them so much....and I said I wouldn't go into it!  lol!  For the rest of the card, I used an "*" from the set called Lighthearted Letters.  I added in a little arrow image from RC's All About you.  And last, I added in some silver sequin stars for a little more bling.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!  I got to spend it with both of my sisters.  I am so happy that we could actually be in the same place at the same time.  Lots of miles between us the rest of the year, so its been a fun and busy week.  We spent a couple days on the Plaza in Kansas City too!  I wish we had more time for the holidays, but its good to get back to normal and the tree is going down today.  Oh and LOTS of laundry too!

Here is a quick list of the supplies I used in today's card....

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  And thank you for hanging out with me for another year!  I am almost to 8 years of blogging and I can't believe that!  I am so thankful for all of my blogging friends.  I have said it before but the friendships are my most favorite part of this hobby!

Happy New Year!

SFYTT...

Have you seen this month's sketch for you to try over at Reverse Confetti?  It makes for a fun, CAS card....

IMG_0094

I used Roundabout and stamped the back of the "thx" image in different colors and then stamped the "thx" in the pattern from the sketch.  To add in the horizontal lines, I scored 2 lines across the middle.  I took a little freedom of sketch and left out one detail, but I love how CAS it turned out.  To make lots of these and have them on hand would be super easy!

I hope you can play along too!  Here its this month's sketch....

oh snap...

I totally love camera images and camera sentiments.  So when I saw these Paper Smooches cameras...they had to come live with me.   I made a card today using this week's new Retro Sketch.  And its a fun change up today....because the sketch is of a tag.  You can see the original tag, by Wanda,  HERE.  It's gorgeous!

Here is my tag...card...tag card.... :)

I cut the camera out with several different colors and then popped it up on a Echo Park Silhouette tag.  I added in a sentient and then scored the card base for a little extra detail.  I added some dark brown twine too, to finish it all off.

Here is the sketch....

Stop by the Retro Sketches blog and see what the DT girls have made up with this gorgeous tag sketch.  AND play along too!  Link up your own tag or card or tag card while you are there.  :)

So glad you could come by today!  Have a great day!
