Today, there was sleeping in at my house. Sleeping in doesn't happen that often. I have figured out the trick. If I keep my kids up until 11pm, they sleep in. So staying up until 11pm doesn't happen that often. I am usually one of those strict bedtime moms. During the summer it's a little lax, but during school? 8pm. They sleep better, I sleep better, the next day goes better. We are all nicer. But 11pm caused a 9am wake up this morning and it was heavenly. I know you didn't come here to read about sleep patterns, so I will move on. :) I just had to share.
It's Retro Sketch day! And here is my card....
I really love these flowers from WPlus9. I know I've told you this already. Several times. But I do.
For this card, I took a SU Striped EF and used it for the background panel. I added in the flowers and a sentiment, on to the PTI tag. I didn't want to take away from all the white, so I added in a white enamel dot to close off the top of the tag. I wanted all the color to be just in the flowers.
Here is today's Retro Sketch...my stripes are in place of the clouds...just in case you were wondering! :)
You can see the gorgeous original to this card HERE. Stop over to the RS blog to see what Arielle, Kasia and our headliner for the month, Lisa, have made up for us! :)
Have a great day!
Laurie, love your tag on your card. Pretty colors, too.
ReplyDeleteYour household sounds like how I was raised. I had a 8pm bedtime when I was growing up. I think that is what has made me a morning person. Even as an adult I can't do the night owl thing.
as a teacher, I'm very interested in your sleep patterns! LOL Good for you for having a sleeping routine! My sleep pattern usually changes a week after school ends, but I've been still waking up at 6 - 6:30. Crazy! LOVE those flowers on pure white...great call on the white enamel dot!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE all of the white here Laurie with the pop of color from those cute blooms!! Thanks so much for your help ;) I've enjoyed being at RS with you this month!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I enjoy the kiddos sleeping in very much too! I can always accomplish sooo much! This card is dreamy, so so lovely!
ReplyDeleteYeppers......sleeping child=happy momma...lol!!! Just joking...lol!!! This card is gorgeous, Miss Lady! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the white embossed stripes! Just makes those blooms pop!
ReplyDeleteJust wait a few years and you will be begging teenagers to get up!!! Heehee!
love the white on white
ReplyDeleteWhere'd you get your Sizzix EF? I can't find it anywhere! ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Laurie! Been thinking about purchasing that sweet stamp set!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning, Laurie! I love all the white with the pop of colors on the flowers. NEED to order me that set!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Great design idea to stick with the white dots. Very clever! Love this card!
ReplyDeleteI'm a strict bedtime mom also. My older two will wake up by 7 no matter what time they go to bed while my littlest sleeps in until 8:30 everyday. I'm not sure how to deal with my little late sleeper since he's the first of us to be like that. My body just won't let me sleep past 6 no matter what. UGH! Anyway, love this card and how you replaced the clouds with the stripes. I was surprised to not see clouds though knowing how much you like them. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love.....
ReplyDeleteHappy sigh - this card is so perfect! I love everything about it! Interesting to read about how you achieved your lie-in lol. I'm by myself and I still haven't nailed my own sleeping pattern!!
ReplyDeleteGotta love it when kids sleep in:)
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous!!!
This is just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this gorgeous card? It's wonderful, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - this takes my breath away!!! I love those flowers, too . . . sadly I've not inked mine up. But you've inspired me to get them out and play! Absolutely gorgeous, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteCrips, clean and beautiful. The way I like my cards! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs!

Gorgeous pop of color against all of the white! I love the embossed stripes on the card base. I wish my kids would sleep in if I let them stay up late, but they seem to be wired to get up early most days!
