Cheer Up Buttercup!

I needed a card for a friend and thought this sentiment was just perfect, so I went ahead and made a card using Scattered Showers!  I love this set!  So fun!

I tried today, to be a little "vintagey"....is that a word?....but not quite sure how I pulled it off!  Using all ivory tones and a little tea dye ink for distressing...which I rarely do!  But I think it turned out ok!

I made the ruffle using my PTI Medium die and the scoring it with the Scor-Pal for a little diminsion!

Here is a close up of the little pearl flower I made for the umbrella!

Let me know what you think of my vintage spin!  Thanks for stopping!

  11. AWESOME! I really like that cream umbrella Laurie. And the "ruffle" is the perfect touch. I don't think I've ever seen a more perfectly tied bow either. You rock!

  20. Great card, Laurie. Love that sentiment and I'm sure your friend will appreciate it, too. (I hardly ever ink my edges either. Used to be because I was afraid to -- scared of ruining my creation :) -- now, I often look at my fnished card and think, man, I should have inked those edges! haha. I guess I'm making progress.)
