I love this new Celebrating You set from CB.  Those daises are so easy to color....I need easy. lol!  the font on the sentiments is amazing too!  I tucked in a piece of vellum behind the Round Tag Die and heat embossed the sentiment.

Watermelon.

Welcome back to week 2 of Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!  This week is a fun one.

I have a soft spot for watermelons.  My husband was raised on a farm and one thing they raised by the acre, was watermelon.  If you ask him....he is not a fan.  He has seen, picked and hoed one too many.  But after you raise watermelon in 40 acre patches, I can't blame him.  Me on the other hand?  I love them!  I  used to love to go out in to the patch and pick my own.  I could eat it everyday!  So I went right to the actual watermelon in the picture and this is what I came up with....

I made a frame using Lil Inkers circle dies.  I stamped a cute melon slice from a Clear and Simple set.

To you...

Hey all!  It's Saturday....already!  The weeks are flying by! We have already been out of school for about 3 weeks and we are plugging along.  This last week was soccer and tennis camp and next week starts T-ball.  The first day of school is going to be here in a flash at this rate.

So today I have a new card for Retro Sketches and then a little news to share.

I used the banner die from CSS to make the focal point.  I added in some wood buttons and twine and then a sentiment from PTI's Mini Blooms.

Here is this week's sketch...

I hope you can play along!  Stop over to the RS blog to see what the other girls have made up for today!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the month of June marks 6 years of blogging for me.  I've decided it's time for a break.  June is going to be crazy with ball games and insane schedules so I'm thinking it's time to shut the door on this room for a little while.  I do have some fun stuff coming up in July, so I'll be back!  I hope you will come back and visit soon!  Thank you all for your visits and comments.  I really appreciate all the blogging friends I have made!  So many of you I am honored to call friends!
Hope you all have a great Memorial day weekend!  I will see you soon!
Today is Festive Friday!  Did you know?  Yep!  Meredith over at FF asked me to join in this week and create a little something.  Of course, I said yes and here I am!
Here is the inspiration picture for this week...
And here is my take...
I used a bird die and cut it out of some cream felt.  I used woodgrain paper for the tag and stamped a sentiment in Vintage Cream.  I layered it up with some red card stock and on to a Rustic White base.
I am so glad I got to play along this week!  Now it's your turn.  Create a project inspired by this fun festive picture and then go to Festive Fridays and link up your creation!
Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a fantastic Friday!
Watermelon.
Stopping in with a quick post today.  My most favorite fruit ever is watermelon so when I saw this die from CSS, I knew we would be friends.  My husband grew up raising watermelon.  And not just a small patch.  They would group 40+ acres some years.  He remembers picking them by the truck loads and take them to Dillons every year.  We live in the sand so we have great soil for watermelons and pumpkins....they also grew those is massive quantities, too.  This was not a job that he enjoyed very much growing up, but it does benefit me in one way.  He will be growing me some watermelons this year.  :)  There is just something about a hot summer day and cold watermelon slices.  They go together like macaroni and cheese!  Alright, the card already.... ;)
I used an Avery Elle sentiment that I thought went perfectly for this big slice of watermelon!
My friend Jen and I are off to a little bazaar tomorrow.  She is going to have her button rings and headbands and I am going to have my cards.  If you are in the area, stop by!
Have a great Friday!
Thankful...
Recently, I made a card that was inspired by an envelope.  You can see that card HERE.  So as I was stamping for that card, I started with the blue lines you see below.  When I finished stamping the 2 images, I realized that these were so perfectly lined up on the edges and I wasn't even trying for that.  So because these were so uniform, I had to stamp another card base for that envelope card and use this one for this card....
I had this one all planned out in my head although I figured the stripes would go all the way across.  Since these were pretty even, I had to keep it like this.  Now if I tried to do it again?  It wouldn't happen.  lol
I am going to be helpful and leave a supply list at the bottom of this post.  I have talked about this before.  I know I am SO bad at that.  I promise to try harder.  (Thanks Chupa!) :)
Wanna see what I just drove through?
Yeah.  I know its not the biggest hail ever....but it did sound like it!  My car is ok.  Thankfully!
OK, I am helping with Camp Physicals at church tonight for the kiddos, so I better get around and get busy!  Thanks for stoppin in!
