Lil' Inker Designs Mini Release Blog Hop...

I am very excited today to be joining the girls over at Lil' Inkers for a Mini Release.  Today is my 40th birthday and what a fun way to spend the day, hopping along with lots of my friends!
The stamp I am using today makes me so happy!  It has such a fun message....

It is spring here in Kansas and the colors are coming alive.  I wanted to make a card using all the colors I am seeing outside.  I love this time of year!  We have had lots of rain and everything is blooming.  Here is my card using all those springy colors....

Here is how I made this card:

1. First, I inked up the stamp on my Misti using Fresh Ink Strawberry, Peach, Chamomile and Basil.  I was able to re-stamp the image a couple of times after sponging on the ink, and got a great solid image.

2.  I cut out the main image with a stitched die.

3.  I masked off the card base and used the same colors to ink blend in the blocks of color to coordinate with the card futon.

4.  To finish it off, I added Glossy Accents to the "smile" on the front of the card.

Your next stop on this Lil' Inker Hop is Karen Baker!  The Lil' Inker Blog has a complete list of stops for today and all the info on the prizes!  Yes, there are prizes!  Be sure to common on all the blogs along the way because winners will be among all the hop comments.

So glad you stopped in today!

Merry and Bright...

Disclaimer: This card was hard to photograph, so I am hoping you can see the fun detail.  This Merry and Bright die from Lil Inkers is SO fun!  Instead of cutting out the square, it cuts out a window with the words attached.

First, I cut a layer in vellum, then I die cut in the center of this card front using the GORGEOUS Ombre Strips Paper Pad.  LOVE!  I atg'd the vellum behind the striped cardstock after clipping off the Merry and bright out of the stitched box.  That way only the vellum layer would show up.

I added foam tape on the back to give the dimension and let the vellum sentiment "float" in the center.  Such a fun and easy, CAS card!

Hope your weekend is off to a good start!  We are headed to B's first basketball game.  It's so cute when they are little and have no idea.  We call it herd ball.  ha!

Thanks for coming by today!  Have a great weekend!

Seriously...a card and a gift bag?

I've had this "seriously" die from Lil Inker forever.  And it all honesty, I made this card a long time ago.  It sits on  top of my shelf staring at me and I figured it was finally time to share.  One of my favorite crafty dies of ALL time is from Lawn Fawn.  These banner dies?  I have raved about them in the past and I adore them.  So here is my card....

I used the banner in the back to make the card and then layered it with the patterned paper.  I love that "seriously" die.  I say that all the time!  I added in a little twine bow and some enamel dots to finish it off.

I'm going to use this card for a gift too.  And what better way to present this card using these adorable  dies?  I am going to hang it from the kraft gift bag and have an instantly decorated gift bag.  I used to put my card....that I worked so hard on...in an envelope and it would fall to the bottom of the bag.  Now?  These card hangers help me share my card.  You know the ones we put our hearts into?  Yep!

(Excuse these terrible pics....its dark and cloudy today...)

Rectangle Card Hanger Die

This die is the Rectangle Card Hanger die.  It fits a regular A2 card, hanging vertically.  I also have a Decorative style and a Scalloped Edge Card Hanger Die in the same size.  I do have a mini Card Hanger die now too, that hold a 3" card. It has a stitched edge in this same rectangle shape

Click on the side bar of my blog....over there on the right where it says Get Your Card Hanger Die.  The Scalloped is out of stock but will hopefully be back in soon!

Hope you are having a great day!  Thanks so much for coming by today!
