Stopping in with a quick post today. My most favorite fruit ever is watermelon so when I saw this die from CSS, I knew we would be friends. My husband grew up raising watermelon. And not just a small patch. They would group 40+ acres some years. He remembers picking them by the truck loads and take them to Dillons every year. We live in the sand so we have great soil for watermelons and pumpkins....they also grew those is massive quantities, too. This was not a job that he enjoyed very much growing up, but it does benefit me in one way. He will be growing me some watermelons this year. :) There is just something about a hot summer day and cold watermelon slices. They go together like macaroni and cheese! Alright, the card already.... ;)
I used an Avery Elle sentiment that I thought went perfectly for this big slice of watermelon!
My friend Jen and I are off to a little bazaar tomorrow. She is going to have her button rings and headbands and I am going to have my cards. If you are in the area, stop by!
Have a great Friday!
Love this juicy sweet card Laurie!! Love how you used just a portion of the large die - works so well here!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, ahem missy, supply list! lol! ;-)
40 acres of watermelons is a LOT of watermelons!!! We have tons of pumpkin patches around here so I can translate I think LOL! What a goo hubby growing you some this year :) Totally darling card. Will think of you every time we eat some watermelon now :)

ReplyDeleteI love this...and especially is the way it is offset to the side.
ReplyDeleteKeep me posted on how the bazaar goes. I'm doing one in the fall and would love to know what sell/price your items and what doesn't sell (although I can't imagine any of your gorgeous creations not selling :)!)
