SAF 2015: Make it Work

We've made it to our last Stamp-a-faire project of the day. This one is a good one!  I have a project that I started for the August release and then didn't love where it was going.....

So for this challenge it was to make it work.  I continued to work on it and changed it up a bit to this....

That big piece of Smokey Shadow bothered me so I changed it up one more time and got this....

The leaves are stamped in Spring Moss to match the card base.  I used Scribbled Sentiments on the first try so for this card, I fussy cut out each letter.  I added in some scored smokey shadow on try 2.0, so on this one I cut that down into a smaller strip.  I think I like version 3.0 better!

Now I am tempted to go back and get that Unconventional Materials challenge card and make it work.  I don't love that one so I am going to have to go in there and do some work!  lol

SAF 2015: Runway Challenge

It's Runway Challenge time!  We all have chosen different Runway looks for inspiration for a card.  First off, here is the photo I chose....

To pull off this look, I knew instantly I would use Garden Grace for the flowers and fined look. 

I stamped the first layer in Berry Sorbet and the outline in Pure Poppy.  The leaves are Simply Chartreuse.  I added in the sentiment in True Black and to finish it off, I cut the card front at an angle and added it to the card base with foam backing.  I felt like that angle also mimicked the dress in the inspiration photo.  I did add some Rainstones to give it a little more detail.

SAF 2015: Patterns Challenge

Alright!  It's time for the next Stamp-a-faire challenge!  This time you have lots of fun card patterns to choose from.   Here is a Go-To Card Pattern for my card....

Here is my original card....



And today I have 2 new cards using this pattern...

This first card uses Lexi's Superhero Stamp set.  I used the dies from the Clipsters Kit for the littler banners, stamping the polka backgrounds after doing a little ink blending on each banner.  I added each banner to a paperclip and popped them up on foam tape.  I scored my card base, as usual, every half inch and then added the card front in with more foam tape.  

I used Maile's Bubble Talk for this next card using the same pattern....

I added in some ombre stamping on the speech bubbles and then lined them up according to the pattern.  I added in the sentiment last and kept this one nice and simple.

SAF 2015: Bridal Challenge

Welcome to Stamp-a-faire!  Are you so excited for this day full of fun challenges?  The first challenge is up over on Nichole's blog and its all about Weddings....and white!  This one makes me happy because you probably know how I do love me some white space!  :)  Here is my all white (mostly), modern, CAS, wedding card....

I used Cover Plate: Stripes Horizontal for the background on top of the white card base.  I popped the cover plate up with stripes of foam tape for dimension.  

I heat embossed the "Mr" and "Mrs" from Grand Ampersand and added in the Ampersand die to the vellum banner.  The banner is from the bottom of the Wine Bottle Tag die.  I attached it inside the top of the cover plate.  

I took so many pictures because it was hard to get a good pic of all the white.  And when I said (mostly) white before?  Well, I cheated just a tiny bit.  On the back of the vellum tag, behind the ampersand....I added the slightest hint of pink chalk.  Now if you scroll back up and look, I bet you can see it....Shhhhh....don't tell anyone!  :)

SAF Free Exclusive Set...

Are you all ready for Stamp-A-Faire?  It's an exciting day around here as we get to share our cards using the 2015 Exclusive SAF set!



I created this card using an ombre effect with Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet on the dress.  I love how the dress and the outline don't match up.  Gives it such a fun flowy feel.  I added in the sentiment to the card front and then cut an angle off the panel so I could have the diagonal stripes peek through.  To add a little shine to the card, I added in 2 enamel dots under the front panel.  I thought it gave a little dress meets tuxedo look for our fashion theme.
