The sweetest day...

I am going to have to say it started out that way! This morning was the Royal wedding! So sweet! I love a good fairy tale! The bride was gorgeous and yes...I cried! When did I turn into my mom?

Well, the rest of the day? NOT so great! I came home from town around 11:45am and noticed smoke in my area. I called my husband and told him about it and about 15 minutes later called him again and said come home NOW! There was a grass fire...which is usually no big deal...until you throw in 50 mile an hour Kansas wind! SO, we spent a good chunk of the day with no power and a knock on the door to evacuate! My husband was pretty sure we would be fine...a farm boy...he does OK with fire...me not so much!

So many have lost so much this week so I know I have so much to be thankful for! I can't imagine what they are going through in the South and I know tonight I am so lucky to have my family safe...and my home standing! The people we see on the news and the ones that have been affected by the storms are in my prayers! Mother nature can be such a scary thing!

I am going to share a card I made last week....

I am so thankful for everything at the end of this day! I went through this very same thing 4 years ago in our old house!  My family was safe then and so happy that we were all safe today!  Thank you all for the tweets and emails checking up on us!  Have a great night!

Totally Hues and Keva's Challenge!

Hi all! I am here today with a quick card for a couple of challenges! First off, I am using the colors from Heather's Totally Hues! So fun! I know I say it everytime but I SO love her picking the colors for me! I don't know if I would have tried this combo on my own! She makes me brave! These colors are so fun!

I am also CASEing one of Keva's cards! She has a challenge over at her blog you can see HERE!  She always has the most gorgeous card and has really become a great blog friend!  I always tell her I am determined to make it to Tennessee so we can go see the last of the Twilight series together!  How fun would that be?

DeNami Product Spotlight!

I loved using this large sentiment! Here is my card...

I made my own background with Versarmark using the Flower Vine Swirl.  Then I layered some card stock and a doily!  This sentiment was super easy to center on my rectangle Nestie using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig!  And then of course some pearls for a little added something!

PTI April Blog Hop!

For my first card I used an older set, Father Knows Best!  I love the sentiments in this set!  Perfect for father days!!  I added some wood grain IP and a little strip of denim for some texture! 

I matted the background and the sentiment in Dark Chocolate just to give it that finished masculine look! 

And a quick "boy" card using some new goodies...

I used PTI's new Grunge Me and Boy Basics: Rock On for this card!  I LOVE the different background elements in these new sets!  Just perfect for the quick and easy boy card!  After cutting out this dino die cut, I used one of the splatter stamps to give him a fun look!

Here is a quick pic of my kiddos yesterday! This new release of PTI stamps is perfect for this ornery boy...who clearly LOVES having his picture taken! His birthday party is going to be so fun to plan and I am seeing some scrapbook pages in the near future too!

You make a difference...

In case you haven't seen THIS new Verve set, you better go and check it out! It went on my favorites list in a super fast hurry! I am so loving these flowers and the leaves! Oh AND the sentiments! I was really excited to win the Mojo Monday contest HERE and I won a stamp set of my choice! This was the one for sure!

There are dies that go with this set....just got that shipping notice today!  Yes!  Couldn't say no to them...or a few of the new Plain Janes!  Yes, I am an addict.  You are too tho, right?  So you understand!  ;)

I am sitting here amongst a sheet rock mess!  Our basement remodel is coming along!  My dd is sooo exited about her new room!  And I am kinda over the moon about my new craft room too!  I am thinking about colors!  I can't decide!  I think we are going with white trim down here so most likely I will pick white cabinets!  Maybe a green room with red accents!  If you know me, you know I love red so that is a MUST in the room!  My room now is black and red!  I am thinking because black shows so much dust that the black is going to go!  I will post picks as I have some new ones!  So I am off to get some cleaning done!  I have to make somewhat of an attempt at maintaining the dust.  Boy is that a chore!

I want to wish you all a Happy Easter!  We have spent time coloring eggs, being crafty with my dd, going to an Easter Egg Hunt!  Today we are going to go to church and probably hunt some more eggs!  Easter is one of my favorite times of the year!  I am reminded of the resurrection and how Christ died for us!  He has blessed my family and I in so many ways!  I am excited to teach my kiddos about his love for us and to make sure they know the Easter story!  I hope you all have a blessed day!  He is risen!!

Super fun new stuff!

Usually when I get a PTI order in, I rip right into it and put it all away and stare at it for awhile and then make something. This time....well it sat. Really, I got it a couple days ago so it hasn't sat that long but its not my usual. Today, I finally had a chance to put some stuff away and seeing that new Circle die made me remember all those cards I "built" in my head the first time I saw it during sneak peeks! SO, I had to get to work! That is all it took for my mojo to return...doesn't always work that way! :)

So here are a couple cards I whipped up tonight!

I am totally in love with this new die as it has SO many possibilities! You could fill those circles with flowers, buttons, brads, butterflies (which I have started already!), prima flowers...the list goes on! For this card I used one of the Love Lives Here dies and it fits perfectly in the larger circles!

If you look real close you can see a tiny little black pearl in each heart!

On to the next card...

I stamped each button with the Newsprint set and then tied floss in each button! I adhered them with a glue dot for a tiny bit of dimension! I masked of the "friend" from the new Think Big sentiments and stamped that most LOVELY "hello"! I do love that font! OH and some wood grain...can't go wrong with that IP!

So that is it for today! I know you will be seeing some more of this die SOON! LOVE!

Paper Dolls Challenge #36

This weeks Paper Dolls Challenge is from my friend Jen! She picked an adorable color combo from a quilt she recently purchased! The colors are just too fun!  I made this card at our Stamping Away weekend because we had a little sneak peek of Jen's colors!  :)

Here is my card...

The embossed background is from a new Sizzix Folder (Country Foliage), courtesy of Amy's enabling!  I love this one!  I am pretty sure you are going to see me use it...a lot!!  Those leaves are also from a Sizzix die!  I really like the small leaves!  Those rolled roses are MFT dies!  LOVE!  And this sentiment is from the new Paper Smooches set!  This really is a great set to have if you don't already!  Lots of great sentiments in such fun fonts!

My sister and her fam have been here this last week!  We have had so much fun playing outside and going to the zoo!  It definitely has been a busy weekend!  Glad she could visit and sure wish she lived closer!

Colour Q Challenge #80

I realized it has been awhile since I played along at Colour Q and these colors were screaming at me to play! It really is a gorgeous combo!

Here is my card for this week....

I have been OK with using orange lately! Not sure what's up but I am diggin' it! I went with a simple layout and then had to add that big ole bow for some flare!

Totally Hues: Challenge #5

I am here today with another post! You can scroll down to see my DeNami post! We are featuring a super cute little Whimsical Frame today!

I have a card for the Totally Hues Challenge! Another amazing color combo that is way out of my comfort zone! Yes Heather! This one was a challenge for me! But I totally loved these totally hues! {OK...yeah...that was cheesy!}

Here is my card....

This adorable sentiment is from Paper Smooches and that AMAZING tree is a new die from MFT! LOVE...LOVE! Did I say LOVE? :) The little trunk is embossed so nice and I love it! And to top it off those little pink buds are from Pebbles! I got those while shopping this weekend!

DeNami Product Spotlight!

Welcome to another DeNami Product Spotlight! Today the DeNami DT will be showcasing the Whimsical Oval Frame...

For my card, I used 3 DeNami stamps.  First, the polka dot background on the bottom of the card.  Next, I stamped the Whimsical Oval Frame on pink cardstock and rotated the stamp slightly each time until I had a full flower.  I cut out each petal and attached that flower to the card base, cutting off the excess!  Then I added the sentiment!   Here is my card...

Yeah that was me. I am screaming with joy! All the way from Kansas. Why you ask?

Well, I wake up Monday, get on the computer and see THIS!  I was chosen for Paper Crafts Magazine March gallery contest!  Yeah Monday!

Now it's Tuesday and I get to share THIS!

Yep...Yeah Tuesday, too!!  I am over the moon excited and had to stop in and share that one of my Thank you cards won an amazing contest called Stamping Royalty!!!  {Jumping up and down here!}  I am still a little in shock and can't believe its true! It will be published in the Nov/Dec issue of PC mag!  Thank you SO much to my favorite magazine, Paper Crafts!  So far they have made my Monday and Tuesday!  I am thinking the rest of the week is going to be amazing!  But today is the highlight for sure!!

Just wanted to share something crafty and CAS too!  Here is a quick card I whipped up!  I got this super cute sentiment at Michael's!  It is from the Ditto line of Studio G stamps!  I thought it was kinda fun!
