Happy Thanksgiving!

Just want to stop in with a quick happy thanksgiving card!  And of course, say happy thanksgiving to all my blog friends!  I'm so thankful for this amazing group of crafty friends.  What a fun hobby we have and I am so glad we can all share it with each other though blogging.

So on to the card...



I stamped the soft stone card stock with Wet Cement from Hero Arts.  Then I added a stack of 3 leaf cluster die cuts.  It made the leaf cluster nice and thick and gave it some nice dimension.  I added in a fun little sentiment from the Simon Say set called Lots of Thanks.  I finished it off with 3 dots of liquid enamel.  LOVE that stuff.

(ETA: This was supposed tomorrow.  Oops!)  So what are you plans for today?  My sister is here from Colorado and we are going to eat.  A lot.  :)  And maybe take the kids to see Frozen.  It looks so good.  Have you seen it?  Let me know if you have.  I'm excited for a relaxed day with family.

November Verve Release and Blog Hop...

I have a couple of card made up for today.  This first one uses the new Plain Jane called Every Heart.  

I stamped this gorgeous sentiment in Versamark and then heat embossed with gold powder.  I painted the edges and center of the card base with Wink of Stella so it looks like I actually have a shimmery card base.  LOVE that stuff!  I added in some music imprinted paper and then finished it off with this little poinsettia.

This next card uses the new Christmas Joy set...



I stamped this adorable little penguin on the tag and colored him with Prismas and OMS.  I added the tag to the card, after I stamped some snowflakes inside and added a clear card stock middle...

CONgrats...

So I've been playing with this embossing paste.  I love it.  I've used it plain white.  I've tinted it pink, blue, yellow and today....gray.   All I did was put a tiny bit of paste on a plate, and then used 2 drops of Provincial Gray reinker (I linked the ink below bc it wouldn't let me link the reinker) and then smushed it around with my Cricut spatula.



One of the hardest things for me is the thought of making a mess.  I've said it before...several times, I know...but I like controlled mess.  So this was a tad hard for me.  I feel like the embossing paste is not in perfect placement, but when chatting about this with Joy, she said...don't think about it.  :)  This card is totally Joy inspired.

Next, I took the Diagonal Stripe stencil from Simon Says and just added the paste all over it.  I used my Cricut spatula for this messy job and it worked wonderfully.  I love that tool.  If you don't have a Cricut (yes, the die cut machine) spatula, run out and get one.  It is good for SO many crafty things.  Then I added in a black banner with the little Simon Says tag and a sentiment from Square Sayings.  It needed a little extra, so I added in the wooden arrow.  

If you haven't tried this stuff yet, do it.  SO fun!  I love just let it sit and it dries beautifully.  If you are in a hurry, it heat embosses beautifully as well.   I love the texture it adds too.

I need a birthday card for this week and I had the perfect set in mind to use.  Then I saw our sketch for this week's Retro Sketches.....and knew it was meant to be!  

For this card, I used Simon Says Tag Sayings set.  I love this set.  A lot.  The tags die that you can get to match the set....a must have.  They are such a fun little size and of course, the matching stamp set is so much fun!  There are lots of sayings included so the stamp set goes a long way. (Check out the links to these supplies below)

I stamped each tag using white ink and attached them with foam tape to a piece of white card stock about an inch shorter than the card base.  I took some 1/8" score tape and ran it along the bottom of that same piece, and added some fine white glitter.  I rounded the corners of the card base and then attached the card front with more foam tape.  To finish it off, I added little twine bows and a wooden heart.
