Ellen Hutson and Hero Arts Hop

Today I am using a favortite set of time....Color layering Monarch and its coordinating dies along with the Hello Message Fancy Dies!

Ellen Hutson and Hero Arts Hop

I scored the white card base a few times and then stamped this gorgeous butterfly.  So easy to die cut with the coordinating open die.  Next, die cut the hello in white card stock and again in fun foam.  I adhered those pieces together and then added those to my card.  I finished it off with some black enamel dots.  Super clean and simple!

I created a fun, CAS card using an adorable puppy image from this set.  I used MFT's Drifts and Hills stencil to create this background.  Next, I stamped the sentiment in black ink along the bottom.

I colored up that cute puppy with Copics and then popped him up on foam tape.  I added in 2 hears with some shading to finish off the card.

May Pin-Sights Challenge....

Today I am joining in over at Ellen Hutson's May Pin-Sights Challenge.  The challenge in inspiration photo is gorgeous.  I mean, look at these colors!

I pulled out one of each color of inks and used the stamped images to work with this color combo....

Untitled

I used Bohemian Garden from Ellen Hutson to create this floral card.  I stamped a card front sized cardstock panel with a floral design.  I love how the colors look together. Next, I cut the panel into 1" strips.  I popped 3 of them up on foam tape for some dimension off the card base.  I grabbed the Zipper Panel dies and used the "enjoy" die to diecut gold cardstock for the simple sentiment.  And thats it!

If you would like to play along with the May Pin-sights Challenge, head on over to the CLASSroom blog.  Every month, there is a challenge over there, based on a Pinterest Inspired photo.  A random challenge participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store.  To be eligible, you must use Essentials by Ellen products and the photo badge as inspiration. Pin-Sights Challenge

Hey there, crafty friends!  I am so excited to be joining in on this month's Pin-Sight Challenge.  I am stopping in a few hours late...I just got home from last day of school activities, along with 5th grade promotion.  That's right.  Next year I am going to have a middle schooler.  I have shed a few tears today.  Anyway, I am home now and just realized my post didn't go live this morning.  Agh!!

So let's get started!  Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo....

From that, I made this....

I got a little techniquey for once!  I actually did a little watercoloring....

I used the Bold Blossom Stand Alone dies, and then cut out the dies from the watercolored areas....

And that gave these blooms such a fun look.  I added in a sentiment from Fancy Thanks, after scoring random score lines on the white card base.  To finish it off, I added in some sequins....

Lucky me!!

Long time no see!  I finally sat down for the first time in a week or so, and made a card.  I have been on a little Spring Break vaca in Colorado with the family.  Incredibly needed and now I am feeling like I can tackle the rest of the school year.  The kids needed a break too and are currently in bed....but have told me many times they don't want to go back to school.  Well....I want them to go back to school.  :)

SO, on to the card....I found a little inspiration seeing my friend Heather's cards on Pinterest.  I can't link to just one but if you follow her blog, you will see what I mean.  I love how she used little splashes of stripes in her cards...either with washi or stamps.  I added a little washi, a little splatter and a little watercoloring all in one here....

IMG_0878

The butterfly die cut is from a Papertrey set called Life is Beautiful.  The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson called Fancy Thanks.  I added in some Copic Mist and some splatter and then added the stripped washi and gold sparkle washi to finish the card off.

OH and I almost forgot the butterfly.  I used some Tim Holtz watercolor paper and just did a little rainbow painting.  Then I used cut the die out and attached it to the card front.

So that is it for me today.  Lots of new and some news coming up soon!  Thanks for stopping in today!
