The Creative Blog Hop...

So some of you may have seen this going around.  It's called the Creative Blog hop.  It gives us all a chance to get to know each other and pass the love on to a friend!  My most FAVORITE part of the stamping community, is all of the friends I have met along the way.  I love the texting, the phone calls and the amazing friendships all with this common bond of stamping.

I was nominated by the sweet and super talented, Amy Rohl.  I have followed Amy's blog for years and I love her cards!  She is truly talented and so very sweet!  You can see her original post HERE.

First, I have a few questions to answer...

1. What am I working on?
Right now I am working on the next PTI Release.  It is fabulous.  If you have seen the peaks, you know that Christmas is in the air!

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
This is a hard one.  My style is pretty much CAS and there are a lot of amazing CAS card makers out there.  I love to use dies in fun ways and find fun fonts to use.  I am truly inspired by other card makers everyday and it so fun to see peoples style change as well as the trends with card making.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I create because I love it.  I come from a very creative family and I think its in my blood.  I love the stamps and crafty gadgets and color.  It is a great stress relief for me!

4. How does your writing/creative process work?

Generally, I see a stamp set, or paper and I can build the card in my head before I make it on paper.  I have done this in the middle of the night sometimes too.  Scary, right?  I can usually sit down and create a card in about 5 minutes because of this, because it is already planned out.  Now, it doesn't always happen that way.  I have been known to sit and stare.....and then walk away!  lol

I've seen some people sharing favorite cards, so I thought I would follow suite.  Here are a few of my favorite cards from years past....

And now for the nominations!

When I think of stamping and how I got my start, I think way back about 7 years ago to my friend Jennifer Carter.  I had already been scrapbooking for a couple years and said I would never start stamping.  I vividly remember saying....that is a whole other hobby in itself.  Why would I need to spend that much money?  GASP!  I know, right?  Then one day, Jen asked me to host a stamping party for her.  I didn't bat an eye.  And I haven't stopped since.  So I attribute all of this to Jen.  She made me do it!  She is kind, smart and funny! She is such a strong person and I value our friendship very much!  So Jen, I am nominating you!  :)

"I am a wife of 17 years to Dwight, and a mom to Mason (6th Grade) and Sadie (1st Grade). I started scrapbooking in Junior High and then later in life transitioned into stamping and card making. It is such a joy for me to be able to spend time with my papers, inks, stamps & dies!"

The next person I would like to nominate is Alyssa Scritchfield.  She is one of my Colorado friends, whom I adore!  She is so talented and has the coolest tattoos and is just amazingly sweet!  Every time I see her, I always wish we lived closer so we could get together more often.

  7. Cool, Laurie! Many of my cards are fully formed in my head, too. They're the easy ones to create... and then there are the others... I love your CAS style. Your CAS does differ from other people's CAS, but I couldn't describe why. I can usually spot one of your gorgeous creations from a mile away. ;-)
