So glad you could stop by today! I am super excited about this month's PTI Blog hop! If you follow my blog you know how much I love Pinterest! SO, when I saw Nichole's challenge was a super fun picture from Pinterest, I had to play along! Here is the inspiration picture...
I was reading a thread over at the PTI forum and it was really interesting to read about what people were seeing from this picture! Some went straight to the silver hangers, some to the cubbies...Ted...;) but I went straight to the colors on the wall! I went for a pretty literal interpretation of those colors! But I think its kinda fun....
I used my Copic Airbrush and picked 8 Copic markers that I thought matched pretty well to the wall in the picture! Then I just sprayed some stripes and then added a little misty look with the brush tip of the Copic! I stamped the sentiment in True Black and added one of my favorite little embellies! I matted the whole thing with a piece of Hibiscus Burst and added the whole thing with some foam tape to a white card base!
I can't wait to see all of the cards and all the different interpretations of this picture! If you want to see a full list and play along, go to Nichole's blog!
And just a little side note...today is my little R's 7th birthday! She of course had to make a card too! Here is her card...
She said the picture reminded her of a sunrise! SO cute! I love love that she likes to make cards with me! She told me she wants to be a card maker when she grows up...I am pushing for a Nurse like me...but hey! I am cool with making cards too! She is so fun! She even set her card up and took her own pics with my iPhone!
So happy birthday girly!! How in the world did you get to be 7?
Thanks for stopping today!
Gorgeous Laurie...I love what you did with your copics...I went straight for the colors too. Your little ones card is adorable!

Just love this Laurie, but hen I'm not surprised - I love all your creations!! The airbrushed Copics gradient works so well - really must get me one if those airbrush systems!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty, soft wash of color on your background--I love it paired with the bold sentiment. Happy birthday to your young card-maker in training!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty laurie, how cool that you can airbrush with copics, looks amazing and the little flower is a very sweet touch.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are always so beautiful and inspiring, Laurie, and this is no exception. Your card is so soft and pretty and the flower is placed really perfectly.
ReplyDeleteLove your daughter's card, too. Looks like she is well on her way to being professional card maker!
I love how soft and sweet your card is. I have such a "literal" brain that I went for an absolutely literal translation of the colors on the wall - but I really, really like yours better! (and mmmm, I love your button jars) And your daughter's card - oh my gosh. I have one who just turned 7 a little over a month ago so I must admit, her card totally pulled at my heart!! That is something my Katherine would do. Tell her she did a fabulous job as well! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday a little late Rylee! Your card is precious! I love how you captured the perfect sunrise scene! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteAnd Laurie, I love the way you made the colors on the background! Very pretty!
I really love this card! All that softness, with the sentiment and flower popping out at you! Gorgeous CAS card! ;D
ReplyDeleteI so wanted to do this challenge! I was thinking of using the color too from the photo. You have done it so well here Laurie! R's card is just precious and tell her I love the beach too! Right now, P's cards are more collagy but they are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteLove your copic take on the inspiration pic!!! What a soft pretty card! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour interpretation is just what I would have tried had I not been out of town leading up to the Blog Hop. I love that you used your Copics to mimic the wall, as that is what jumped out at me as well. Happy belated b-day to your sweet girl!
