So here is my card...
I am not one who used patterned papers very often! Not because I don't LOVE them...in fact I buy them and then I end up hoarding them! But more because I just don't know how to use them! I try to mix papers like I see people doing and then just can't pull it off! I love when I can make my own paper with stamps though! This flower border and some Copics, made a really fun print!
Can you see the texture on the card base? That is the Canvas IP from PTI? Love that thing! If you run the same piece through twice, in different directions, it gives it so much more texture! Kinda fun!
Here is the HA set I used....such a fun set!
I just wanted to add one more thing in here! I just reached 200 "blog friends" on my sidebar! Thank you so much for hanging out with me and for all the encouragement and support! I get so many sweet emails and comments and have made some fantastic friends through my blog! I had no idea how much fun this would turn out to be! I appreciate all of you!!
I have another card I made Sunday with some more Hero Arts and Copics! Come by tomorrow to see that card!
Thanks for coming by today! Have a great week!
Supplies
Stamps: Hero Arts Happy Hello
Paper: PTI Melon Berry, Stampers Select White and True Black
Ink: Tuxedo Memento, True Black
Misc: Copics, Red Pearl, Canvas IP, Foam Tape
I'm the same with patterned paper! Love to buy it, look at it, occasionally stroke it lovingly, but I don't use it nearly as often as I should!
ReplyDeleteI love this card, it's so sweet. I'm a bit annoyed that you've added another PTI IP to my "Must Have Because Laurie Used It And It Looks Awesome" list... ;-)
soooo sweet...I love seeing when people make their own stamped patterned paper...I don't ever think of doing that because I keep buying patterned paper:)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this Laurie!! Ya know why? Because much like you with pp, I can't do JUST stamping! I try and try but it never comes out looking like your fantastic work! Isn't that funny?! I think I will just stick to sentiments.
ReplyDeleteFantastic use of a smaller stamp and I love your homemade DP. I'm with you, even if a pack comes together, I still can't make them "work". :)
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this card. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty I really wish i had your talent in not using DP but I am a paper lover by heart!!!!Thanks for the inspiration as always!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is totally ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteToo cute Laurie! I love your DIY patterned paper. That's what got me interested in stamping. I wanted to create my own patterned paper to save some money on how much paper I was buying. It did help some, but I still LOVE patterned paper so the saving money part hasn't actually happened! LOL I think i'm going to go make some patterned paper today! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute! Love how you only partially colored the flowers! Cute layout too!
ReplyDeleteReally cute card. I agree with you on making my own patterned paper. I do have a ton of it, but it never seems to be exactly what I need. I love your ideas and how you used that cute HA stamp set!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Laurie! It's Perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tip Laurie! Running it through 2 times in opposing directions...clever!
ReplyDeleteLove your stamped PP too.
Love it! I'm so with you...I have the absolute hardest time with pattern paper...that must be why almost half of my PTI stamp collection is the Background Basics line! lol
ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS style again!
Super sweet card, Laurie! Love the colour combo and the contrasting black is fabby!

ReplyDeleteThis is a very super sweet card, love the charming colors you've used!
ReplyDeleteThis is darling, Laurie! Love the stamped BG--I, too, love patterned papers but just tend to hoard them! Maybe we can start a support group...LOL!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 200 followers!
I'm a pp hoarder too! I hope to scrapbook more this year and use some of my supply up.
ReplyDeleteLove your stamping & coloring, you made fabulous patterned paper. I love being able to have everything match too.
Patterned paper - shmatterned shmaper! You don't need it! You're doing just fine without it!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love your home-made pattern paper. Super pretty! The colors you chose for your card are so fun too!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to catch up on my fav blogs today. I've been so behind lately, because I've been sick. I can see you have been busy creating some fabulous cards. I always love your clean style!
Oh I totally LOVE HA! Your card is terrific with those images!
ReplyDeleteSuch bold colors and so fun!
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card - love that you accented with black! Just a lovely way to pull the color out and lovely pp that you created!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous colors! Love that strip of black and one flower drawing your eye to the sentiment...
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card!!! Love the pink and black combo.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I don't need to see another Hero Arts set of yours that I "need"! LOL Can't wait to see your Hero Arts card tomorrow using our favorite set! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this one - sooo pretty!!! I love those colors!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way - I have tons of DP and hardly ever use it! I'm not good at mixing and matching it! I'd much prefer to make my own too!!!
Huge congrats on getting over 200 followers!!! Wooo Hooo!!!!
How cute!! I'm a patterned paper lover but not user too! I love to buy it, love to look at it, can't bear to cut it because I'm afraid to use it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your use of stamps on this, and can't wait to jump to the next blog.

GREAT card! I love the design and colors! I LOVE to make my own patterned paper even though I don't need to because I have too much already!!! TFS!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to run the card stock through with the impression plate in two directions...don't know why I never thought about that before...thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteLove this card!!
ReplyDeleteEven though this card uses bold colors, it has a lightness to it. Maybe that's due to you knowing just how much to color.
