Introducing Book Club...

Today, I have four very different projects to share, all using the new bookmark dies from Papertrey Ink, called Book Club.

This first project is a fun little teacher gift using the new Stitched Bookmark Dies and the Stitched Apple die from last release.

I used Harvest Gold felt and stitched up a bookmark.  On the top, I pinned on a little felt heart.  I added a bad around the middle with the "handmade for you" stamp from Teachers Apple, stamped on a scalloped square from Limitless Layer Dies.  I covered the top of the notepad and the inside of the pen with Pure Poppy Bitty Boxes paper.  I finished it off with a Simply Chartreuse Bow.

This next project is a fun little Christmas tag using 2 of the new Bookmark dies.

IMG_0387

I used Bookmark #2 and #3 and layered them up.  I cut the both shorter by layering them up to shorter the bookmark into a tag. I stamped a sentiment from the new Seasons Greetings and heat embossed it with white Filigree Embossing Powder.  I added in some stickles on the bottom for a little sparkle.  The top is made with a Simply Chartreuse Satin Dot Ribbon and some red twine.  I added in 2 silver bells for a little more detail.

These new bookmark dies are really fun!  There are 3 different styles and have so many possibilities for things other than just bookmarks.  Here is a CAS bookmarks, featuring one of the quotes from the new stamp set called Book Club...

I stamped the flowers after cutting out the bookmark and then added in the sentiment in black ink.  I found some purple floss to give it that traditional bookmark look.

Basic Bookmark #2 has a fun CAS look.  I love the lines on the bottom that give it that arrow look.  I used the bookmark here for a little card decorating...

IMG_0343

I cut one each, out of Kraft, Enchanted Evening and White.  I stamped the sentiment in Enchanted Evening and then added some gold card stock strips in the background.  (The inside of this card says Happy Birthday...just realized I didn't photograph that part!)

Merry Christmas and a sad goodbye...

It's time for another week of Retro Sketches!  Today's sketch is based on one of my cards that you can see here.  It makes for a CAS card for sure!

I am also sad to say, this is my last week at Retro Sketches.  I have been with Arielle since the 2nd week or so of this amazing challenge and I am so sad to go!  Thank you Arielle, for having me and for being so sweet all these years!  So glad we are friends!

On to my card....

I used a new die from Papertrey Ink.  This die will be available in just a couple of days!  I love the fun font and how it makes an easy card.  I layered it with some of the new Sparkle and Shine patterned paper....also available soon!  :)  I added in a strip of silver sparkle washi tape at the bottom for some shine!

Introducing Sparkle and Shine...

Ok, I am super excited about today's post!  These new dies from PTI....insert huge grin.  I LOVE them!  Today we are showcasing the new Sparkle and Shine Stamp set and dies!

Theses dies are fabulous and I love how they can make such a fun and interesting card with just a few steps!  First off, here is my birthday card...

IMG_0307

I used the inside die to make all the confetti in several colors and then I used the star die to cut some glitter paper.  I added the frames in Soft Stone.  I cut the "sparkle" sentiment from Berry Sorbet and then added a layer of Glossy Accents, a layer of Glitter, another layer of Glossy Accents and then another layer of Glitter.  Can you say sparkle?  It even shows up pretty well in the photo!

IMG_0308

For my next project, I made a tag using the new Ornament dies.

IMG_0321

I added a sentiment to the back of the ornament and then put in some Christmas colored sequin for the shaker.  I added in some Pure Poppy striped paper for some detail.  The sentiment was die cut with Pure Poppy as well and then I layered it in lots of Glossy Accents to make the Shine, shine!  :)

IMG_0322

I used some Simply Chartreuse paper and cut out 10 of the top ornament frame.  Yes, I said 10.  Crazy I know!  BUT so easy!  I glued them all together with a piece of acetate in between the top 2.  I felt like this gave it a more finished look  and you don't see a bunch of foam tape chunks.  Another thing you can do, is die cut fun foam and stick it in there.  That gives you the dimension without all the die cuts.

IMG_0326

So that is all I have for today!  These dies are all so amazing and I can't wait to see what the other girls have for us!  I will be hoping along with you!

Monthly Moments: September

Welcome to Day 3 of the PTI September Release.  Today's post is all about Monthly Moments: September.  I adore this month's paper pack!  It's full of apples and school patterns and totally feels like fall.  I made this super easy card with one piece of the card stock included in the pad...

IMG_0288

The card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".  I cut the green lines in half and put a piece on each edge of the card.  Then I popped up the gray "back to school" up on foam tape.  And that's it!

I know the other girls will have some fun stuff to check out too!  Here is a list of places to stop...

Erin Condren Planner Video...

Hey there crafty friends!  I have a different kind of post today.  The kind where the crafty world and planner world collide.... :)

So, I am a planner nerd.  Have been all my life.  Actually, anything to do with office supplies makes me happy.  I remember, as a child, playing with yellow legal pads and manilla folders, like I really had something to organize. Ha!  Well, now I am all grown up (for the most part) and I still love to organize.  I have all kinds of stuff, including kids, to keep straight and planners are such a help throughout life.

I found Erin Condren planners several years ago, but have been a tad to frugal to take the plunge, but this year I did it.  Yay!  I just got it in the mail and I thought I would share a quick video and some links....you know...to help you with your planner addiction as well!  :)

Also, I have a link right here...

I am such a planner nerd and I love all the little goodies that go with it.  Since I am a stamper also, I have some fun stamps to share.  These below are from StudioL2E.  They go perfectly with the planner and make for some really fun decorating, details and lists.

This first set is called List It:

IMG_0298

So cute!  I just love those bullet points and the font and all the fun little shapes.  This next set is called Plan It.  I adore the little hydrate stamp and the date stamp.  So adorable!

IMG_0299_edited-1

This last set is called Label It.  It is so cute and will make the most adorable little flags and banners.  I think it would be fun to stamp these directly on to post it notes so they stick to your planner.

IMG_0300

So you've seen those rolls of tape in the pictures above.  Those are paper tape from Target.  These are are like little rolls of post it notes.  I love the colors!  They make a fun little flag note in your planner.

I watched a video over on Stephanie Klauk's blog and she showed how she used this adorable bag.  I was instantly in love with the bag. I headed straight to Target and picked it up!  Check out Stephanie's video by clicking here.  (She also shares a GENIUS way to add inserts to your EC planners using a Crop-o-dile.)

Here are a couple of shots with the bag all loaded up.

The zipper pouches on each side fit the planner perfectly.  I have an On-the-Go Notebook on is way to me and it will fit perfectly on the other side here.
