PTI Release in Review...

Have you been loving this release so far?  As a customer, the 15th of the month was such a fun day and I am so excited to get to share it with you.  3 months in and I am still pinching myself!  Here are a few cards using the latest June release....

IMG_9821\

This card uses a sentiment from Keep it Simple:  Weddings.  I stamped the sentiment onto a banner from the First Place Dies and then heat embossed it with white Filigree powder.  I stapled it onto a white, woodgrain card stock that I die cut with the Might Bloom Cover plate.  I layered it all on to a kraft card base to finish it off.  I love this rustic sort of wedding feel.

IMG_9824

This next card was so fun to make...

IMG_9805

I used the negative of the stripes over plate to make the base of this card, just gluing down the stripes.  Then I added in some of these gorgeous Friendly Flowers and a sentiment from Thank you Kindly.  I love love love these flowers.  Did I say love?  I do.

IMG_9804

The Topiary Trio is another favorite new set.  I love those trees and the double stamping.  That detail is so fun!  And the dies are perfect!

IMG_9840

I made the back panel from the Phrase Play #5 die, just snipping out the "happy".  I added a topiary up on foam tape and then added in a sentiment from Thank you kindly.

IMG_9843

This next card was fun to make.  When I saw the flower centers in Friendly Flower, I instantly thought fireworks!  (As did Dawn!) :)

IMG_9903

I stamped one in Pure Poppy, one in Enchanted Evening and one in Delicata Gold.  I stamped the sentiments on 2 strips of paper and popped them up on foam tape.  The sentient is from Monthly Moments: July.  LOVE these monthly sets.  I am telling you the scrapbooking bug has bit.  Stay tuned.  :)

IMG_9904

For my last card, I tried something that I have only tried one other time.  I am not a colorer.  I know I have said that that many times.  I want to be.  But I just can't get the hang of it.  Ask me to color a sold image....I'm your girl!  :)  BUT, when I saw this cat, I knew I had to try again.  Practice makes....well....practice helps.  Ha!  So here is my attempt at the no line stamping/coloring whatever it is called technique....

IMG_9907

I stamped the cat on the die cut in Tuxedo Black Memento after stamping off about 4 times.  The line was very light.  Then I just went back in with 3 different brown copics and blended and shaded and blended and tried to shade some more.  I had to stop before I blended a hole in the paper but for my second attempt, I thought it turned out ok.  I stamped the bowl shadow on the ground, from Bowl of Sunshine and popped the cat up on foam tape.  I added in a sentiment and then cut out the ball of yard die  I stamped off here again several times and then stamped the image on the white paper.  I went in first with a dark copic and traced the lines of the stamp.  Then I went back in with another, lighter red and colored over the whole thing, leaving no white paper showing.  It gave the lines a softer, yarn look.  This set is just too cute!  My daughter has now made 7.5 cards with this set since it came in the mail! :)

Introducing Bowl of Sunshine...

Today, I have a fun post to share with you!  Today's group on the PTI countdown is all about the new set called Bowl of Sunshine.  I have a fun and super easy project that would be awesome for a house warming gift or any occasion.  First off, here is the card I made to go with the set...

IMG_9745

I stamped the colander and apples first, along with the sentiment.  I popped the panel with a little scalloped edge tucked underneath.  That is a fun trim isn't it?  Well, it comes from this adorable new Berry Basket II die....

IMG_9754

This gift includes 2 stamped tea towels, a matching card and tag.  I stamped an apple from Teachers apple and added a little extension of Pure Poppy striped paper along the bottom.  The sentiment comes for Bowl of Sunshine.

IMG_9752

I found a 2 pack of tea towels at Hobby Lobby and used a coupon so they were around $3 for the pair.  I stamped the colander in Dark Chocolate, the apples in Pure Poppy, of course.  I added stems and used the single leaf to add a few around the apples.

IMG_9760

Let's talk about this fun basket.  It was so easy to put together!  And the stitching details are so adorable.

The bow is made from Simply Chartreuse Saddle Stitch.

IMG_9766

I filled the basket with some kraft scrunched up paper from Hobby Lobby, as well.  Here is a picture of the towel open so you can see.  Just a quick and simple detail for a fun and easy gift....

PTI Countdown Day 4...

It's Day 4 of the June Release Countdown and today's group post is going to be FUN!  I love love this set and I have a couple of cards to share.  Our challenge was to create 2 cards.  One using the Ombre set just for that...an ombre background.  The next card was to be made using an image in a different way than intended.

IMG_9829

This first card uses Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush.  I stamped the image 5 times and then cut it out just so the ends of the image would be cut down.  I matted it with a with background.  then I popped it up on another piece of white card stock and then....attached all that on to a white card base. I love all the layers and the popped up section.  It is fun for a little dimension.  Last, I added in a sentiment from the new Wet Paint dies.....I may have squealed a little when I saw these dies in the box!  LOVE!

IMG_9830

This next card is super CAS and so easy!  I used one of the ombre images for what I thought would like cute little hills....

IMG_9833

I added in a sentiment from Topiary Trio and then the little flowers and stems from an older set called  Just Smile.  Easy peasy!

IMG_9834

I can't wait to see all the other Ombre cards.  Here are some stops to make to see more using this fun new set...

PTI Monthly Moments Day 3...

So if you are a scrapbooker, you may have noticed these adorable little paper pads and dies from the Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments line.  I told Nichole recently, that this line has inspired me to start scrapbooking again, so I hope to have some layouts to share soon.  For today, I have a couple cards using those Monthly Moments goodies.

IMG_9807

I used one piece of the June pad to make this card.  I simply cut it in half and cloths-pined it together. I attached it with foam tape to a card base that I impressed with the Sunshine Impression plate.

IMG_9808

Here is one more card to share today...

IMG_9818

All the papers you see are again from the June pack.  I used the new Monthly Moments: Right and Left File cards to create the background layers.  I added in a little Clip It from last month and then another piece of card stock, stamped with a sentiment from Monthly Moments: June.  I added in a little enamel dot to the clip for decoration.

IMG_9819

So fun and easy!  I love that these tools are so versatile for scrapbookers and great for us card makers too!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I bet you are enjoying this release!  So many fun new goodies right?  Stop over to Nichole's blog to see what the other girls have made up for today!  Have a great day!

Phrase Play #5-June PTI Release

Hi friends!  I am so excited to be joining in for day 1 of the June Release Countdown.  Today, I am showcasing a new die in the Phrase Play series....#5.  I have 4 projects today to show you 4 different ways to use it!  This first card showcases a regular way to use the die with a little color....

IMG_9786

I cut 5, 1/2" strips...one each of Harvest Gold, Melon Berry, Navy Blue, Spring Rain and Simply Chartreuse.  I attached them to the card front and then popped the Phrase Play #5 die up on foam tape to cover the strips.  I went in and stamped the little sentiments that come in the Phrase Play #5 stamp set.  To finish the card, I rounded the corners of the card base with the 1/4" side of my Corner Chomper.  SO easy and so fun!

IMG_9797

Are you a fan of sentiment dies?  I sure am and this die makes that happen!  Kind of like a 2 for one really!  I cut the die out using some patterned paper and then used my little scissors to easily snip 3 places where the word connected to the box and this is what I got....

IMG_9814

LOVE the potential in this because this sentiment can go with so many of my PTI sentiment favorites.  I added in a word from the Phrase Play #5 stamp set and then some fun little tabs that you will see more about soon.  I cut a banner from the First Place Banner dies and then added in a heart and some liquid enamel dots.  I round the corner of the front panel and then attached it to the white card base with foam tape.

IMG_9816

I used the Phrase Play die in this next card, as a stencil.

IMG_9809

I washi taped it down to a piece of white card stock and then used my distress blender to blend in some Pure Poppy ink on the bottom and Berry Sorbet on the top.  I stamped another sentiment from the Phrase Play stamp set and a heart from Tabbed (coming soon).  I used my Pink Marvy Circle punch....yes I still have those behind my door in a shoe organizer...and it fit the circle perfectly.

I filled the heart with some Glossy Accents and then added the circle to another Phrase Play die that I cut out in red.  Before I attached the focal point, I used Background Basics: Super Stripes to make a little background decoration.  I used foam tape to pop the whole thing on a Berry Sorbet base.

IMG_9810

Are you still with me?  hehe!  Last card, I promise!  I used the die here to make a little mini....

IMG_9788

I cut a piece of white card stock, 5 3/4" x 3 7/8" to form the mini card.  I added some Soft Stone striped paper on the card base, covering it with the Phrase Play die.  I stamped a little hello from the Tabbed set...again coming soon!  It needed some color at this point, so I added some enamel dots.

IMG_9812

This die is amazing and has so many more possibilities for cards and scrapbooking.  I hope you have enjoyed my cards!  I know there is lots more to see.

Thanks for hanging out with me today!  See you soon!
