Holiday Wishes...

At this rate, I am going to have my Christmas cards done soon!  I am really having fun with all of the Simon Says Christmas release.

So I got a little inspiration from Debby on how she used the mailing label.  I used a little woodgrain paper for the background and then added in the tree die cut.  Can I just tell you how much I love this tree?  I cut it all out in white and then colored each piece with a Copic.  I added some Glossy Accents to the tree decorations and the bow.  I love how the Glossy Accents make that red pop!

And last...thanks to Heather P....I got over my fear of heat embossing for this card and added in a sentiment.  I stamped it with Versamark and used White Filigree powder.

Hope you all had a great weekend!  We have a busy week starting here and I better go start on the mountain of laundry I have staring at me!  I am usually a neat freak.  Everything has a home...but the laundry and me....we don't get along.  :)

Have a great day!

Have an Amazing Birthday...

Did you see the new sketch over at Retro Sketches?  Well, I am a day late!  But I made it!  :)

Here is the card for this week's sketch...

This card is little... 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".  I used some polka dot paper in the background and then layered it up with a pop of red.  I added in some poppies from the new Verve set called, Poppy Birthday, and a sentiment from the same set.  (It's on Sale too, over at the Verve Store!)

Here is this week's sketch....

I used more glitter paper...gasp...

I had to bust out some more glitter paper.  At this rate, I'll be out soon.  I have come to terms with the hoarding problem.....I can go back to Hobby Lobby and get more.  Geez, why didn't I think of that sooner!  Look at how fun this glittery sentiment is...it totally worth using it up....

IMG_0360.jpg

So first, I cut that super sentiment with the Simon Says Merry Christmas die.  Then I ran the sentiment through my little Xyron to turn it into a sticker.  I learned about this in the Summer Card Class, and I have found that this really is the easiest way to adhere these fun little dies to your card.  And so easy!  If you don't have one, get one!  And grab a refill too.  I didn't.   And now I need a refill.  :)  (You can find a link to these in my supply list below)

I used the diagonal SSS stencil to sponge in this fun candy cane stripe.  I added in the most adorable tree with the Bright and Merry Tree stamp set and dies.  Oh and then I corner chomped the one corner. Do you have a corner chomper?  In my opinion....a must have for your tool set!  :)

The kids are out of school today, so I am taking them on a little road trip.  They are so excited they can hardly wait.  That means....I better get gone!  Have a great day!

stripey goodness...

I am in the mood to make birthday cards.  I need to have more in my stash because I am running low.  I made this one quite awhile back and just found it so, I thought I would share.

I just took a piece of striped card stock, scored it at an angle and then bubbled it up a little, attaching the corner with a glue dot.  I added in this adorable Verve sentiment from Take Note and an enamel dot to finish it off.  Super easy!

Go check out Verve Stamps by clicking HERE.  I just saw that the set I used here and lots more are on sale right now!  :)

Hope all is well out there in blog land!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Glitter makes everything better...

I've been hoarding this one piece of red glitter paper (from Hobby Lobby).  Forever.  I have no idea why I've never used it....other than if I did it would be gone!  Gasp.  Please tell me you can relate?   But I'm kinda glad because I got to use it for this card...

IMG_0333.jpg

I cut a small rectangle big enough to fit this ADORABLE Merry Christmas sentiment and then attached it to the card base.

I cut out the sentiment and popped the hole thing up on foam tape for some dimension.  I decided to leave it pretty CAS by stopping there.  I had to let that glitter shine all by itself. That and I love white space.  :)

Have you started on your Christmas cards yet?  With these amazing new Simon Says Goodies, I've been making all kinds of holiday cards.  So I will be back soon with more!  Click HERE to see the new release.  Lots of good stuff.  LOTS.  :)

Thanks for stopping in today!
