Thanks a Bunch!

So today's card is a challenge! A challenge I came up with just for me! It included 2 things! Patterned paper and stitching. If you know me and my blog, you know that I do not tend to use patterned paper. I love it. I hoard it. But I don't use it! SO, here I am with a "stitched" patterned papered card! Yeah me!  (And excuse that huge black thing in the background of my picture!  Those are my big wooden scissors and they don't make a good photo background!) :)

Basically I just stitched around each square and then made a little one inch banner by cutting the strip and then cutting the banner shaped cut on the end!  I stitched it up too on the one end so it would look like those 3 layers are sewn together! See how tricky I am!  ;)  The Thanks a Bunch sentiment is from a Verve set (the name is escaping me at the moment) that I absolutely LOVE!  I stamped that in Burnt Umber!  Then I have a little rolled flower (MFT die) and I added a little plastic flower to the middle for a different look! The leaves are PTI felt and I just hand cut those into leaf shapes!

I hope you like my card today!  I know you are in a little shock coming here and seeing this paper!  It's OK!  I am sure I will be back soon with a CAS card.....with no patterned paper...and no stitching!  LOL!

Have a great day!

Clear and Simple: June Group Project

I am so excited because today is my first Group Post as a CSS DT member! For this group post, our challenge was to make our own patterned paper!

So here is my card and a few shots of the paper that I made!

group card

Here is how I did it....

paper step 1

I took the line stamp in the set and just alternated colors!  I used Toile Pink, Hay Stack Versamagic, and Green Studio G.

paper step 2

Then I went back over it again to make a plaid design.

paper step 3

And here is my paper all finished!

paper step 4

I matted the paper with green cardstock, added some ribbon and the main focal point!  I stamped the branch image and the nest in Burnt Umber, colored the leaves in with a Copic marker and then added a pink egg!

welcome little one

Last, I stamped the sentiment again in Burnt Umber and then colored the "welcome" in with a brown colored pencil!

I am so glad you stopped by today!  We are off and running with Summer! We have VBS this week, along with swimming lessons everyday and three nights of softball!  We are all going to need a vacation from summer vacation!  But we are already having tons of fun!  I am also getting settled into my new room!  I decided to move in temporarily until I can decide on furniture and a good arrangement!  I have some  pics I will share soon!

Hope you have a great day!

Thank you!

Stopping in today to say HI! I know I have had scheduled posts this last week so you didn't even know I was gone! But I was! My family and I were in Colorado for the week visiting with my sister! We stayed in Fort Collins for a few days and Keystone for a few days! It was an amazing get away with AMAZING weather! Now I am back in hot Kansas! Not loving the weather here but that's OK! It is good to be home!

First off, I have had a couple emails about my Pinterest challenge from awhile back! Sorry I haven't announced a winner before now...I didn't forget about it! Thank you to my little group of players! Several gals emailed asking if I would do another Pinterest challenge so let me know if there are others that are interested and I might have to do another one!  I love Pinterest and I find so much inspiration there!  I am glad you like it too!

So....the winner is #10 Laurel S.!  Shoot me an email Laurel at ll_willison@yahoo.com and I will get your prize to you!

Because I was gone forever...well 8 days...seems like forever...I missed my stamps and had to sit down and make something!  I love LOVE this new PTI set, Botanical Silhouettes!   Here is a card I whipped up this morning....

I stamped Newsprint in True Black, matted that with True black cardstock and then cut the bottom at an angle. I also took a pen and rolled the corners of the white cardstock just for a little worn look!  Next, I stamped the stems in Ripe Avocado and the blooms in Pure Poppy!  I think it looks so fun layered with the print!  I slid in some ribbon, added a loop and the Thank You sentiment from Honey Bees!  Quick and simple!

Here are just a few pics of my trip...

Minus the machinery and the trees cut down in the foreground, I love this picture of R!  She LOVES the mountains and said several times that she wants to move there!  Still trying to talk dh into it!

This is all of us at Dillon Reservoir!  It was such a fun place for the kids to play! They had a great playground but really all they wanted to do was throw rocks in the water!  They had a ball!

This is the same lake!  It was so still and when I turned around to see this, I had to take a picture!  All I have to say here is God is good!  WOW!  All these pictures were taken with my iPhone!  I was so happy to have some great shots while we were there!

Well, that is it for today!  Thanks so much for coming by today!  I hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted)

DeNami June Blog Hop

Welcome to the last stop on the DeNami June Blog hop!  So happy you could come by today!

If you are following the hop, you got here from Ruby McGuire's blog!   If you want to start back at the beginning, just click HERE to get you to the DeNami blog and the complete list of participants!

I am sure at this point you have seen some amazing framed creations!  I am super excited about this theme!  I have a particular frame that I love...here is my card using it....

IMG_1084_edited-1

I measured out how much space I needed for the sentiment and then inked up the frame stamp.  Then I added a small piece of tap around the side where my sentiment would go!  Of course, I lined the frame and then the sentiment up with my SAMJ.  (I could rave about it, but I am sure you already know how much I love that thing!)  Then I stamped the 3 flowers and cut them out!  I attached each flower with a different type of adhesive for more dimension.  The first is a glue dot, the foam tape and the middle flower I used a Pop Dot!  I added the die cut leaves for a little extra pretty!  And then I had to finish it off with some silver pearls!  :)

If you want to see another gorgeous card, using these same stamps, check out Paulina's card!  We teamed up this week to show you how versatile these DeNami stamps could be!  My card is CAS and her card has more of a vintage spin with some gorgeous details!  Here is a complete list of the stamps that I used for my card:

I49 Decorative Frame
D75 Small Daisy Blossom
F175 Hang In There

3 stamps= 1 CAS card!  Easy peasy!

I used three little white pearls for the "gems"!  A card just doesn't feel complete sometimes without them! :)
