Monday Mojo 185

**Scroll down for my  DeNami Blog Hop Post!**

I am just getting back home from my super crafty weekend with the girls! Let me tell you how much fun we had....LOTS! Lots of shopping, talking, card making and a ton of laughter.  I think I burned some....*some*...calories laughing so much and really I needed to. We ate a lot of fun...not so healthy...stuff. Yum. That's all I am saying about that! ;)

So I did have a chance to play along with the Mojo sketch while on my super fun weekend! Here is my card....

I will attach the sketch at the bottom and you will see that turned the sketch on its side! I am LOVING this Stella and Rose paper...so much that I did not want to cut it up. But I did. :)  This little Verve sentiment is so cute!  I am thinking I need that set now.  Thanks Amy....she is an enabler.  A big enabler.  We won't go into how much money she cost me this weekend.  ;)

I added a little fun border, a doily and my oh so favorite buds!  (Dana...LOOK...Orange!!) Oh and that silver bling!  You know how I love silver bling!

Here is this weeks sketch....

I have to say too, I have been ridiculously busy lately and I have been a terrible blog friend.  My google reader is bjusting at the seams, its so full!  I know I have missed so many gorgeous creations!  I have requested a few more hours in every day but that request has not been answered yet.  I am sure that is a no-go!  I hope to have some time to come and visit and leave some love!

I do SO appreciate your comments and emails!  Each one makes my day!  Thanks so much for coming by today and I hope you have a fantastic week!

DeNami April Blog Hop

DeNami April Blog Hop

Welcome to DeNami's April Blog Hop!  We have a super creative line up this month, as we do every month and I can't wait to see everyone's creations!  The theme is Monochromatic!  I have in the past been a self proclaimed monochromatic girl!  I love things simple and with different shades of the same color!  If you are following the hop, you got here from my sweet friend, Michele's blog!

SO here is my creation for this month...

IMG_0741_edited-1

You can't tell from the picture but the umbrella is stamped on Lemon Tart and the background is Harvest Gold.  The layering of the monochormatic colors looks so pretty IRL!  I stamped the background with DeNami's Polka Dot background stamp!  And I am SO in love with that sentiment!
Your next stop on the hop is the adorable Wendy!  You can go back to the DeNami blog too, for a full list of participants!

So here are a few details straight from DeNami Design....

When: The blog hop starts on April 10 at 6 AM,PST. However, you have until April 11, 2011, 11:59pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Why: To be inspired by beautiful creations featuring DeNami Design stamps and also the chance to win mini shopping sprees on the DeNami Design website!

Prizes: We are giving away THREE $20 gift certificates to our website! We'll be giving away one gift certificate to a random participant (DT members not eligible) and then we'll also be giving away TWO gift certificates to TWO people who comment along the hop!

Extra Challenge: This blog hop filled SO quickly, so we thought we'd bring an additional opportunity for those who weren't able to get on the list, and also those blog hoppers who had additional monochromatic projects to share. We will have a link widget on the blog hop post where you can upload additional monochromatic creation(s). We'll choose one winner to be guaranteed a spot in the next blog hop AND they'll get to choose a few stamps of their choice!

So glad you stopped by today!  Have a great Sunday!

Techniquey Thanks!

So as you know...if you follow my blog...I am not usually a techniquey person! BOY do I love to see other peoples work and am always wishing I could pull it off like others do but I don't feel like I can! So I am breaking out of my CAS style to bring you a techniquey card! Can I just say it one more time? Techniquey.

Here it is...

I love this Hero Arts stamp and I know you have seen it here recently! So I smeared my Tim Holtz inks on the back side of my Scor-Mat and then spritzed it with water! After clear embossing the image on my card, I rubed the front of the image onto the mat! Instant colored bacground! I learned it from a HA video awhile back! See? I am learning! And reaching out of my CAS comfort zone! LOL!

So I stamped a little text and added a little denim and trim and then some Prisma blue pencil centers to my flowers (not sure how I feel about my coloring there!).

Do you like my potato masher photo holder?  I have used it before here but its been awhile!  My friend made it for me!  It's a really fun recipe holder but I had to throw it in here again!

Well this it is for me for a couple days!  I am off to a super crafty weekend in Topeka/KC with my friends Jen, Amy, Eva and Barb!  AND I am super excited to get to have dinner with Jinny!!  YEAH!!  Jinny can't wait to meet you IRL!!  I will be back with pics!  :)

And yes I have changed my blog picture like 10 times but I am having so much fun with the Instagram app on my phone!  The way it makes the pics look retro is too fun!  I went back and edited a couple pics of me that were not my favorite and gave them awhole different look!  :)

Everybody have a great day!

One stamp...2 cards....and a winner!

So I have this gorgeous DeNami Leafy Vine Wreath stamp that I haven't used yet!  I have to be honest and say that it was kind of intimidating!  I have seen some gorgeous cards with this but didn't know how to pull that off myself!  So I just dove right in and stamped a couple wreaths and got to work!  I have 2 cards today for you...same layout...basically the same card...different colors!

Here is card #1...

IMG_0726

This one is kinda springy, mabye wedding-y, Eastery etc...I love these soft colors and usually don't pull these out but I actually made this card first!  I am not sure you can see but the wreath is full of little pearls!  And let me tell you how easy this was to color!  Super simple quick card!

And then there is card #2...

IMG_0735_edited-1

You know I had to throw some red in the mix!  If I would have had a little Christmas sentiment this would be the perfect Christmas card!  I added some glitterly pearls and then some red rhinestones too!  So glad I tackled this stamp!  I would have to say it makes a really pretty fast card!  You can find this wreath HERE

Just a quick reminder to play along with the DeNami Theme Challenge!  You can find more info about that HERE!  Three lucky winners will get a DeNami Gift Certificate!  Don't miss out!!

And one more bit of stamping business today....I recently held a card challenge on my blog and I was so excited to have some super talented ladies play along with me!  (I tried to figure out the random number generator and how to post the picture of the winning number but that was a no go!  Couldn't figure it out!)  SO, the lucky # was 7. Laura Bassen!  Congrats Laura! Email me at ll_willison@yahoo.com so I can get your prize to you!

Thanks to everyone for playing along!  I had some requests to do this again and so I just might have to do another Card Aisle Inspiration Challenge soon!

Have a great day!

DeNami Challenge!

Welcome to the DeNami Theme Challenge!  This is really a fun theme for me!  My oldest is a girl so I find myself making girly things most of the time!  Now with my 2 year old I can start making more boy stuff!  So that is just what I did with this Boy Theme!

He is only 2 so I know he won't appreciate these just yet, but I love them!  I made little little place cards for his birthday party!

IMG_0630_edited-1

These are SO easy to make!  First off you need one, 12x12 piece of navy blue cardstock!  You can make 9, 4x4 cards with one piece and no waste!  Then just score each 4x4 at 2 inches!  9 easy bases and then you can decorate them however you want!

For these cards,  I took DeNami's polka dot background stamp, and just stamped it repeatedly in 2 different colors of blue ink to give that watery look!  Then I used a scalloped border die and used the negative for the waves!  I stamped the little boat from the Under the Sea Petit Four and colored them with Copics, cut them out and put them up on foam tape for that added dimension!  I used the computer to print out the names and then added the anchor from the Nautical Petit Four set!  Super easy and so cute!

Don't forget to stop by the DeNami blog to play along with this challenge!  And you can find more inspiration there from the rest of the DeNami DT!

Thanks for stopping today!  Have a great Monday!
