oh, hello..

Just stopping in with one last card for Summer Card Camp.  I have been trying so many of the new techniques I've learned but haven't had a lot of time in the last 2 weeks of camp.  I made this one on Monday and am just now getting around to share it!

This card i one using this week's color combo and a sketch.  Super simple!  I added in the stripes with my score pal and then some cute little flowers from Avery Elle.  The sentiment is from Arrows 'n Elements from Reverse Confetti.  I added in some Glossy Accents in the flower centers for a little extra detail.

Hope you have had a great week.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

To you. From me.

Summer Card Camp 2 is so much fun.  I feel like I am getting back into the groove and feeling very inspired by all these challenges.  So my card today uses this week's color combo + 1 neutral....(not a sketch...hope that is ok).

I found an adorable cut file from A Little Hut, and had to put it to use.  Before I layered up this card, I took some distress inks and added them to a piece of white cardstock.  I considered stamping on the card stock, but felt that the lines from the cut were the right amount going on for the card front.  I added in a little banner and sentiment to finish it off.  I don't use these distress inks very often because mostly? I'm scared.  There it is.  The ugly truth.  It's kinda of like spray mist.  I have no control.  I don't like that.  I need controlled mess.  hehe!  Like "controlled splatter" in the form of a splatter stamp.  Already done for me!  Love that!

OK.  I appreciate you stopping in!  Hope you have a great Thursday!

You're sweet and a Video!

Back with another card for Card Camp.  I skipped day 3.  I'll go back to it tomorrow!  :)  I have a layout CASEd from the lovely Cristina K.  I love how she titled the front card panel to the side.  I had to give it a shot on today's card.  I found some card stock to match the colors (not a 100% match but close enough) and a cameo cut sentiment, and made this...

Do you ever post a card and then really look at it on the computer and find something you'd change?  Well I did.  The "sweet" needs to be tilted a little more but it's down with glue.  And it's not comin' back up!  lol

So I got a little craftier and made a video.  I have seen so many 10 Minute Craft Dash videos (shout out to Suzanne, Jess, Jen and Jingle), so I had to make one of my own!

ETA: Just rewatched my video and the shout to Laura Bassen and the saggy card middles was gone.  That was for you, Laura!  :)

Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Be strong...

I am 2 days behind on Summer Camp cards already.  I work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  So now I am playing catch up! Here  is my card for Day 2...

I used the color combo again but couldn't get the orange in there.  No surprise!  I did really try though!  I think I need an orange intervention.  :)

OK, so I just found this adorable sentiment stamp at Hobby Lobby today.  It's a Stampabilities brand and I thought it was pretty cute AND went perfectly for Jennifer's adorable technique.  So for $1.99...I snatched it up!  I added layers of color and then popped it up on my Hawaiian Shores card base.  The card base is stamped with the HA Envelope Pattern stamp and then scored on the 3 sides.  I added in some Simon Says Mini Heart dies too, for the side element in the sketch.  I have loved seeing everyones cards in the gallery!  So many creative people to hang out with for the week!  :)

ETA: After I finished this blog post, I looked at my card again and realized that I was in desperate need of some Glossy Accents....

Much better!

Now I am headed to swimming lessons with the kiddos and then after they are in bed, I am thinking I will check out Day 3.

Hope everyone is having a great day!  Thanks for stopping in!

Camp. For me.

It's time for camp.  For me.  Not my kids!  :)

So about an hour ago, I decided to take this class after talking to my friend Suzanne about it several times.  Our summer schedule is about to slow down into the month of July, so I thought why not?  :)  I participated in the first summer card camp and learned so much!   So I signed up...and got to work!

Today's cards are made from sketches and colors combos that they have provided for us.  Here is my card....

The background layer is embossed vellum.  I added in a layer of Hawaiian Shores card stock stamped with Hero Art's Envelope Pattern background.  I added in a banner and then sentiments and flowers from WPlus9's new set Fresh Cut Florals.

One of the colors is orange.  Orange and me don't get along so well.  I always try.  But I just can't pull it off.  I almost left it off the card but then I decided to use a tiny bit in the flower centers.  I also varied a little bit with the yellow and used a super light green color for the leaves.

I'm really glad I signed up and am super excited to have one card done.   There is still time to sign up!  Click HERE to see all about it.

Thanks for stopping in!
