So the other day, Laura made THIS card. And my jaw dropped....as it usually does when I see her cards. I had been playing around with some ampersand cut files....
....but just didn't know what to do until I saw her card. Then I made this...
....but just didn't know what to do until I saw her card. Then I made this...
I cut this ampersand....its a Glitz Design....design, that I found in the Silhouette store. (I will link it up in my supply list below.) In fact, I actually cut 6 of these.
And stacked them up. I learned that in Summer Card Camp. :) A few quick tips....use clear glue...much easier than a tape runner. Also, grab a paper piercer or tweezers to help push all the thin pieces together quickly. The glue dries fast. When you're done, you can use a sanding block to smooth any crookedness or fuzzies. Because you will have some crookedness and fuzzies. It happens. :)
Last, I took some HA Wet Cement ink and stamped this simple, but adorable sentiment from Simon Says Sketchy Banner Sayings.
I love Laura. She's amazing. :) I hope she likes my Laura inspired ampersand creation. :)
Thanks for stopping in today!

ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning card Laurie, you're making me want a Silhouette just for this ampersand!!
OK, so that is one fabulous font on the ampersand... but what you've done with it... it's outta da park. White on white, the font plus the simple sentiment, the warmth of the total message, stacking the die cuts (just did it with two and foam between, but just plain six layers... how cool).
