Thinking of You

Here with some Hero Arts stamps today! I am so excited to pull them out! I bought them and love them but haven't used them much! I am seeing HA all over the place and I have really been inspired!

So here is my card...

I am not one who used patterned papers very often! Not because I don't LOVE them...in fact I buy them and then I end up hoarding them! But more because I just don't know how to use them! I try to mix papers like I see people doing and then just can't pull it off! I love when I can make my own paper with stamps though! This flower border and some Copics, made a really fun print!

Can you see the texture on the card base? That is the Canvas IP from PTI? Love that thing! If you run the same piece through twice, in different directions, it gives it so much more texture! Kinda fun!

Here is the HA set I used....such a fun set!

I just wanted to add one more thing in here!  I just reached 200 "blog friends" on my sidebar!  Thank you so much for hanging out with me and for all the encouragement and support!  I get so many sweet emails and comments and have made some fantastic friends through my blog!  I had no idea how much fun this would turn out to be!  I appreciate all of you!!

I have another card I made Sunday with some more Hero Arts and Copics!  Come by tomorrow to see that card!

Thanks for coming by today!  Have a great week!

  1. I'm the same with patterned paper! Love to buy it, look at it, occasionally stroke it lovingly, but I don't use it nearly as often as I should!

I love this card, it's so sweet. I'm a bit annoyed that you've added another PTI IP to my "Must Have Because Laurie Used It And It Looks Awesome" list... ;-)

  3. I LOVE this Laurie!! Ya know why? Because much like you with pp, I can't do JUST stamping! I try and try but it never comes out looking like your fantastic work! Isn't that funny?! I think I will just stick to sentiments.

  4. Fantastic use of a smaller stamp and I love your homemade DP. I'm with you, even if a pack comes together, I still can't make them "work". :)

  7. Too cute Laurie! I love your DIY patterned paper. That's what got me interested in stamping. I wanted to create my own patterned paper to save some money on how much paper I was buying. It did help some, but I still LOVE patterned paper so the saving money part hasn't actually happened! LOL I think i'm going to go make some patterned paper today! Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. Really cute card. I agree with you on making my own patterned paper. I do have a ton of it, but it never seems to be exactly what I need. I love your ideas and how you used that cute HA stamp set!

  12. Love it! I'm so with you...I have the absolute hardest time with pattern paper...that must be why almost half of my PTI stamp collection is the Background Basics line! lol

  29. That's a great idea to run the card stock through with the impression plate in two directions...don't know why I never thought about that before...thanks for the tip!

  30. Even though this card uses bold colors, it has a lightness to it. Maybe that's due to you knowing just how much to color.
