a little Laura inspiration...

So the other day, Laura made THIS card.  And my jaw dropped....as it usually does when I see her cards.  I had been playing around with some ampersand cut files....

....but just didn't know what to do until I saw her card.  Then I made this...

I cut this ampersand....its a Glitz Design....design, that I found in the Silhouette store.  (I will link it up in my supply list below.)  In fact, I actually cut 6 of these.

And stacked them up.  I learned that in Summer Card Camp.  :)  A few quick tips....use clear glue...much easier than a tape runner.  Also, grab a paper piercer or tweezers to help push all the thin pieces together quickly.  The glue dries fast.  When you're done, you can use a sanding block to smooth any crookedness or fuzzies.  Because you will have some crookedness and fuzzies.  It happens.  :)

Last, I took some HA Wet Cement ink and stamped this simple, but adorable sentiment from Simon Says Sketchy Banner Sayings.

I love Laura.  She's amazing.  :)  I hope she likes my Laura inspired ampersand creation.  :)

Dreaming always..

I was inspired by a banner I saw on TV here recently.  So from that, I made this...

IMG_0192.jpg

This banner is an Echo Park cut file from the Silhouette store.  Talk about easy to cut and assemble!!  I love it!  I colored the top 2 banners with a Copic and then stamped the background with Clearly Besotted Basic Stripes.  I added in a sentiment from Simon Says Talk Bubbles 2.  SO fun.

I love my Cameo. The end.  :)

Love you tons...

Hey there! Stoppin in with one more Simon Says card.  I am in love with all the new Stamptember stuff?  How bout you?  I have a wish list a mile long!  Here is a quick and simple card I whipped up using the new square envelope die...

I popped the envelope up on foam tape and then added a heart from Talk Bubbles 2.  The sentiment is from the new Sketchy Banner Greetings.  Easy peasy!  :)

Today is the first day of school here!  I have one on the bus and even though I am so happy that school is here....I am a little sad to see her get on that bus.  She is so big!  I don't know how the years have flown by so fast.  I can't wait to see how her day has gone AND I am going to enjoy the quiet all at the same time!  :)

Ok, I better get going!  I have to work for a couple hours this morning!  Hope you all have a great day!

Curtain Call-Back to School

Welcome to another round of Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!  This week's theme is a fun one!  Check out this inspiration photo....

And here is my take....

IMG_0076.jpg

I used a Verve set that is FABULOUS for school themed.  It's a must have people!  Seriously!  Click HERE to see Teacher's Count. (It's on sale right now too...just sayin'!)

I am just a tad excited about the apple.  I watched the most amazing video from Kristina Werner about coloring an image without the stamp lines visible.  Well...I tried it.  I have to say, it's obviously not even close to perfect.  But I think that is why I like it.  The lines are a little messy, but it gives the image a whole new look!  I am not usually into coloring...but Kristina's videos are helping me learn to love it for sure!  She is a great teacher! (And thanks to Elena for pointing out the video for me!)

For the chalkboard, I took some black cardstock and used a makeup sponge to add some chalk dust into the background.  I heat embossed this amazing sentiment onto the cardstock and then added in a little frame of brown cardstock.  I ran the actual card base throught with the Linen IP for a little texture.

That's it for today!  Check out the Curtain Call blog to see the other back to school creations and check out the prize from  The Alley Way Stamps, this week's sponsor.

Thanks for stopping in today!
