Spellbinders September Clubs Blog Hop

Good morning!  I am so excited to be hopping along with a group of amazing crafters today to share with you all the September Club kits at Spellbinders.  Today I wanted to share another card using the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit.  I just love this adorable little rainbow and all the details included.  Keep scrolling to see my project and also read up on a quick recap of Hot Foiling.  There are also prizes and a full blog hop list below.

Here is a quick pic of the full September Hot Foil kit....

I created a quick, clean and simple card using this adorable rainbow and one of the awesome sentiments.

Spellbinders

To create this card, I used purple tape and layered the glimmer plate and Gold Foil to the front of a white card stock panel.  After foiling the sentiment, I scored 1/2" all around the front.

Next, I took each part of the rainbow and foiled 4 different color of cardstock to create the rainbow.  I used the coordinating die cut to cut each piece out, along with a fun foam backing for each piece.  I adhered each color to the fun foam and popped them up under the sentiment.  Last, I added a tiny little heart to finish off the card.

Are you new to hot foiling?

Spellbinders has a platform called Glimmer Hot Foil System.  This platform heats up metal plates called Glimmer Plates.  These glimmer plates come in ALL different types....sentiments, florals, backgrounds, graphic details etc....and add the most gorgeous foiling detail to your cards.  And the foils?  There are LOTS of different colors to chose from!

Here are some links to help point you in the right direction....

The Glimmer Hot Foil System works great with a Platinum 6 Die Cut machine from Spellbinders but also works with other die cut machines. You can click HERE to see a compatibility chart.

So once the platform and your glimmer plate heat up, you add in the foil and the cardstock and run in thorough your die cut machine.  Once you pull off the foil negative, the magic happens!  That foil that is set on your cardstock is just gorgeous!

  4. I love the clean simplicity of your card! The glimmer foil (which I am not familiar with) mixed with the dimension & color you added definitely takes this card up a notch. Hmmm🤔 I may have to add a new skill to the list of techniques I want to learn.

  30. Fun card and especially like that the recipient can be of any gender and/or age. Just simply scoring alongside each edge really added a punch to the composition. I know I am partial to foil on cards and addicted to foiling, since I recently got my glimmer machine. Simple but oh so effective make!
