Altenew April 2020 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Good morning, friends!  We have another amazing release from Altenew today.   There are prizes and an awesome line up of inspiration from some amazing crafters.  Keep scrolling to check out the prizes and to see a list of stops on today's hop.  All the new products you see in today's post are linked below in my supply list.  :)

Let's get started!

Altenew

This first new stencil is called Sweet Spring.  Its a 2 step stencil that creates a beautiful bouquet of blooms.  I kept it simple by adding a sentiment from the new Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp set.

Another thing you might see in the photo is the envelope....

Altenew

This new set is called Envelope Art.   This set has lots of amazing banners and details to create the perfect envelope to coordinate with you cards.  To create this envelope, I stamped the banner images and a simple sentiment across the top.  I love this set because you can keep the envelopes super simple, or you can add lots of extra details to make them full of fun!

One last project to share showcases the new set Pile of Presents....

Altenew

I grabbed Classy Stripes to add a little detail in the background.   I used a ruler and black thin line maker to add in a little frame.  I stamped and stacked up the presents and added in a sentiment to finish it off.

Sending Sunshine and Rainbows + VIDEO!

So I am sure by now you have seen the ADORABLE Rainbow Turnabout from Concord and 9th.  Well it came in the mail today and I  got to work.  Unfortunately, I don't have a jig.  I had a homemade jig from a sweet friend....but couldn't find that either.  So after several (as in 12 failed attempts) and an emergency Zoom with my crafty friends.....I was able to crack out several panels that worked out pretty well.  Moral of the story.....you definitely need a jig!

Here is card!

Concord and 9th

After making a homemade jig from a 6"x6" piece of cardstock and getting it lined up, I stamped out the rainbow using the Altenew Inks, Heartbeat, Snapdragon, Sunday and Bamboo. (All supplies linked below)

Concord and 9th

Next, I grabbed this beautiful sentiment from the Brighter Days Stamp set and and heat embossed it on vellum.  I layered that on the rainbow panel and then popped it all up on the green card base.  I used the heart dies from the Brighter Days Die Set and added those to the vellum.

Concord and 9th

ETA:  I figured out a little something to make the rainbow stamping SUPER EASY!  Check it out!

These rainbows are just too cute!

Hope you are all doing well and staying safe!  Are you ready for normalcy like I am?  All I want to do is go to Target but I am staying home, safe with my kids!

Thanks for coming by today.  Have a great day!

Thinking of You {Hero Arts}...

Hello friends!  I have a new card using a couple of my favorite Hero Arts products.  I had this project started and then watched a video from Spring Stamp Camp and felt inspired to finish it up!  If you haven't seen the latest Online Card Class, Spring Stamp Camp, you should definitely check it out!  I am so excited to be a Guest Artist for camp so I will have some quick and simple cards coming up soon.

Hero Arts

To create this card, I used the Floral Solid Bud Stamp.  I grabbed Altenew's Volcano Lake and Bamboo Inks to ink up the stamp.  I spritzed the stamp with water and then stamped onto watercolor paper to get this watercolor look.  I was able to make 2 of the same card using the large panel I was able to stamp out.  Next, I added more ink by spritzing the Volcano Lake along with some white ink on the panel.

Hero Arts

I cut the large panel down into 2 card fronts and then matted them with the aqua card fronts.  I die cut the Hero Arts Thinking of You Die in black fun foam and added it to the card.  To finish off the card, I grabbed Simons Mini Heart Set (BEST HEART DIES EVER) and added a few to the card front.

Hero Arts

So that is it for me today.  I can't wait to watch more of these Spring Stamp Camp Videos and make some more cards.  I hope you are all doing well and staying safe!  Thank you for coming by today!

My Spellbinders Collection is HERE!!

I have been waiting for today for a long time!  My collection at Spellbinders is here and it is live!

When Spellbinders asked if I would be interested in creating my own collection, I was so excited to give them a few ideas I had swimming around in my head.  My style is clean and simple and I wanted to see some Glimmer Plates that could be added to simple cards so that amazing foiling could shine through.  The inspiration behind these 5 sets, is just that.  To add a little shine to any card.  These details will work for super simple cards, but also can be added to with your favorite stamps and dies.  Let me show you what the new Effortless Greetings Collection looks like.

This first one is called Framed Details.  I love the simple pinstripe frame that fits onto an A2 card front.  It looks amazing in Gold Foil or even Silver foil and gives an awesome stationary feel.  There is also a 2nd plate, a Vine Glimmer plate,  inside the frame.   This vine is a gorgeous detail to add to any card, layering with floral image or a big sentiment.
This next set is called Foiled Brushstrokes and Stripes.   This set comes with 3 brushtroke stripes and 3 basic stripes.  I am a sucker for striped details on cards so these additions are so much fun!  The bold stripes look amazing all lined up!

Now for a big, bold sentiment, we have Sweeping Grateful!  This handwritten sentiment is gorgeous across the front of a card.

And Sweeping Thanks....another awesome handwritten sentiment to add to a card.
Last is a new set called Effortless Sentiments.  I love a good handwritten font.  These beautiful basic sentiments will add the perfect sentiment to your card.  They also come with coordinating dies, so they are super easy to add to any project.

Here is a quick gallery of projects I have been working on.  I will be back soon to share more.  I hope you love this new collection and I can't wait to hear what you think!

Hero Arst

This first card showcased the April My Monthly Hero Kit.  This months kit has an Australian Theme and is full of adorable animal silhouettes, the perfect coordinating sentiments and dies and an awesome stencil!  I created a shaker card for todays hop AND a video!  I know my cards are usually pretty clean and simple, but this time I had to shake things up....LOL....and make an actual shaker card!  Check out the video below for all the details but keep scrolling to check out the card I made using this month's add-ons.

APRIL ADD-ON PROJECTS

Hero Arts

This new die might be a favorite now.  Its called Surfs Up Fancy Die and its SO much fun!  There are 3 dies that layer together to create the coolest wave.  I used a light blue for the full wave and did a little ink blending at the bottom.  Then I layered the dark blue at the bottom and the white caps at the top.  I popped the whole thing up on foam tape and added in the simple setneimnt.  Last, I added in the pink surf board and the surfer in black.  I love how much detail this adds to my clean and simple card.

This next add-on is called Beach Heroscape....

Hero Arts

I just love this add-on, called Beach Heroscape, with the beach and all the beachy details.  I masked off the middle of the card and blended in a sandy bottom with a sunny sky.  I stamped and layered the ocean and die cut it out with its coordinating die.  Last, I stamped in the sentiment, the little birds in the sky and the little beach goer at the bottom.  I matted the panel with gray cardstock and then popped it all up on a white card base.
