Altenew August 2018 Release Hop + Giveaway

I am so happy to be hopping along with the girls at Altenew for the August Release Hop.  There are SO many amazing new stamps and dies and I had a ball playing with each set.  I have 4 clean and simple projects to share wit you today.  Check out my projects and scroll down to see how you can win some prizes.

CARDS

This first project uses Altenew's banner dies and showcase their new number dies.....

Altenew August 2018 ReleaseTo create this Sweet 16 banner, I die cut 3 pocket banners in white card stock.  I used the Ditsy Print Stamp set and added a little patch of blooms to each banner.  Next, I grabbed the Tall Alpha Stamp set and stamped the word Sweet on the first banner.  Next, I added a 1 and a 6 to the last 2 panels in a light gray card stock.  I cut the holes across the top of each and then added some black twine to hold the banner together.  These numbers are going to come in very handy!

To create this next card, I used the new stamps called Halftone Squares and the new Mega Happy die.  Halftone Squares has a long stamp in it that let me create a fun rainbow background...

Altenew August 2018 Release

I popped the background panel up on fun foam and then went in and added the happy die.  I stacked about 5 dies up to create some dimension.  Next, I heat embossed the word Mail, from the Mega Greetings 2 set, on the black banner and tucked in down behind the happy die.  I added to little black enamel dots on the other side of the happy just for another little bit of contrast.

Altenew August 2018 Release

This clean and simple card set was made using the new Block Print Stamp Set and the Halftone Squares Die set....

Altenew August 2018 Release

I stamped each Block Print with a different color and then die cut them with one of the Halftone Square dies.  I added them to the card front in a square pattern with foam tape.
I chose a fun sentiment and stamped that in black ink.

Altenew August 2018 Release

To give the card a little dimension, I curled up 2 sides of each square....

These were quick and easy to make!

This last card showcases another Block Print image and a bloom from the new set called Floral Art...

Altenew August 2018 Release

I used a sponge and did a little ombre inking on the Block Print for the background.  I added some black Copic Splatter on the card front as well.  Next, I stamped the sentient and then added a simple floral image die cut and then popped up on foam tape.  I added the card front to an yellow card base for some added color.

MFT Birthday Project...

For this month's Birthday Project over at MFT, we have been given a challenge that makes me super happy!  Clean and Simple!  Here is this months challenge...

Appeal to a modern aesthetic with a clean & simple look that minimizes extras and puts the focus *squarely* on the occasion with this month’s Birthday Project challenge.

Here is my clean and simple card...

MFT Birthday Project

To create this card I grabbed a white card front and die cut 2 stitched circles from the front.  Next, I added score lines for a little bit of texture.  Using foam tape, I added the white die cut panel to the card front.  I added the sentiment from Handwritten Happiness in black ink and then die cut one heart from the Full of Hearts Cover up and added it to the card front with foam tape.  I covered the heart in glossy accents for some shine.

MFT Birthday Project

There will be a list of the MFT Design Team members who will be playing along with the Clean and Simple Birthday Project.  Head on over to the MFT Blog to check it out!

Bug Jar Shaker Kit...

Hey there! I am stopping in today with a couple new cards from the Bug Jar Kit.  This kit is filled with the most adorable toppings, an adorable stamp set and dies.  This kit is the perfect addition to the Love Jar kit which has its own stamps and toppings, but also includes the jar dies.  Check out the Queen and Company store to learn more about both kits.
(all supplies linked below)

I have 2 projects to share today.  This first card showcases the Jar shaker box and dies, along with some toppings from the Bug Kit....

Queen and Co

To create this card, I scored a white card base randomly with score lines.  I built the little shaker jar and added toppings from both the Love Jar Kit and the little bugs from the Bug Jar kit.  I also added the most adorable wooden stars.  Next, I stamped a sentiment on the tag and tied it on to the jar.  To finish off the card, I stamped and heat embossed a little butterfly stamp on vellum and attached it to the jar.

Queen and Co

This next project is a super simple little card set in a matching card holder...

Untitled

I cut 3, 3x4 card bases in white card stock. I took 3 sentiments and 3 adorable little bugs and stamped one on each of the cards.  I used Copics to quickly color each image.

Untitled

Next, I made this little pocket and turned it into a card holder.  All three cards fit perfectly inside.  I thought this would be a fun little gift to give to a friend!

Untitled

That is it for me today.  Head on over to the Queen and Company Store and check out these adorable kits.  Don't forgot to check out all their shaker boxes and toppings!

Hope you have a great day!

Spellbinders

If you follow my blog, you know I love to score. And score some more.  So I did that hear.  I did several random score lines on the bottom half of the card.  Then I lined up those adorable birds along with a hello sentiment to finish it off.  Super easy!

Spellbinders

To finish off the little birds with one last detail, I added some liquid black enamel dots to their eyes.

Welcome to Day 1 of the August Release over at MFT.  I have a clean and simple peak of those adorable bird dies from last months kit called Birds of a Feather...

MFT August 2018 Release

I kept this card light and simple by creating a little scene with ink blended clouds, a little hill and then die cut that panel and popped it up on the card base.  Next I die cut and built those adorable little birds and added them to the scene.

MFT August 2018 Release

There is also a new set called From All of Us that included the perfect sentiments when you are sending a card from your family.  I added that simple sentiment inside the card...

CARDS

The main stamp set in the August My Monthly Hero set is absolutely adorable!  I love the coffee images and all the sentiments.  Here is my first card...

IMG_7037

To create this card, I did a simple watercolor wash on watercolor paper for a quick and easy background.  Next, I stamped and die cut 2 of the coffee cups and added a quick Copic splash of color to each cup.  I know that my friends and i all take our coffee differently, so I added a lighter version and a darker version.  (Mine is the one with all the cream and it ends up where I have a little coffee with my cream...haha!)  I used one of the latte images with a brown ink and then on the darker coffee, I added the latte art image in white ink.  Last, I stamped the sentiment off to the side and matted the whole card front in a kraft colored card stock.

IMG_7039

When I saw this Fancy Window die, I knew it had to be a shaker card.  I die cut the window in white cardstock intending to add some color but when I saw it in white....I had to keep it that way.

IMG_7031

I created the shaker box and lined the back of it with a piece of rainbow patterned paper to make the white window details pop.  I added in some fun shaker makings and then added the thank you sentiment to the little sign. I attached the shaker box to a green card base which made that white die cut shine even more.

MFT August Countdown Day 2...

It's day 2 of the MFT Countdown.  Everything you are seeing this week will be available on Tuesday, August 7th at 8pm CST.  One more day of the countdown!

I have a card today showcasing the new set called Fluttering Friends!

MFT August 2018 Release

I love all of the dragonfly images and I figured a good way to use them all was to create a simple background.  I grabbed a piece miscellaneous stripped patterned paper and then stamped all the dragonflies across the paper.  Next, I die cut a panel with the Wonky Stitched Rectangles.  I used 2 sizes of the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips and cut the larger one out in Vellum and the smaller one out in black card stock.  I heat embossed a sentiment with white embossing powder on the black banner.  I love the look of all those dragonflies stamped out for a super quick and easy card.

MFT August 2018 Release

The MFT Blog will have lots more to see.  Stay tuned for one more day of sneak peeks before release day on Tuesday.

Hope you are having a great day!  Thanks for stopping in!
