Love Jar Kit Gift Idea {Queen and Company}...

Hey there friends!  I'm here today with a cards using the Love Jar Kit from Queen and Company.  I don't know about you, but I think this kit is so much fun.  There are endless possibilities with these jars and I am stopping in today with a fun idea for all the gardeners out there.

Instead of filling the shaker jar with the traditional toppings, I filled added Forget Me Not seeds.  Now....if I had more on hand the jar may have been a tad more full, but I added one packet for sample sake.... :)  This makes the most fun gift for any of the gardners in your life.  They can easily remove the seeds from the jar and plant them in their flower beds!

Love Jar Kit - Queen and Company

I do love white space on a card so using one packet of flower seeds gave me lots of that!  I used a piece of the floral paper in the background from the paper pack included in the kit.  The little tag die worked perfectly for a little sentiment block tucked behind the far.  And of course that sentiment!  The stamp set included has several adorable sentiments ready to use!

Love Jar Kit - Queen and Company

I decided to add the original seed packet on the back of the card so the instructions for planting the seeds are close by.

Love Jar Kit - Queen and Company

I have to give credit to my sister for the idea to create this card.  When I posted my first Love Jar Kit on Instagram, she commented how cute it would be to fill the jar full of seeds.  I loved her idea and it makes for such a fun gift!  Thanks Michelle!

This next card was so fun to make because of that beautiful rainbow paper from the paper pack.  I couldn't cut into it so I used it for the whole background.

I added in the leaf die (not included in the kit) and the attached the shaker box on the front.  I used those gorgeous wood hearts and some small blue flowers inside the jar.  All those toppings in the kit are so pretty and make for the most fun shaker jars!

I hope you have enjoyed my Queen and Company cards today.  I am so glad you stopped in!  Have a great day!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge...

I am stopping by today with a new sketch for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge over at MFT.  First let me share my card with you and then you can scroll down to see this week's sketch....

MFT WSC382

This card was super simple to make.  With a mixture of inspiration from the sketch and a good ole' basic envelope, I came up with this card.  I used the Sweet Celebration Paper Pack to create this "flap".  I attached it to the white card base with fun foam for some dimension.  Next, I die cut the celebrate die and some more fun foam to pop the sentiment up on the card front.  I masked off the sentiment and then added in some glitter along the bottom of the word.

MFT WSC382

Here is this week's sketch. I can't wait to see what you create!

The MFT Challenge Blog will have lots more sketch cards to see.  Hope you can play along!

MFT April 2018 Card Kit
I used my Zig Watercolor Brushes to add color to each bloom. I piled them up and added a sentiment from the set called You Give Me Butterflies.  The little gems are included in the kit and add such a fun little detail!  I finished the card but adding the card front to a card base edged with the Black and White Striped paper from MFT.  LOVE that stuff!

MFT Card Kit Countdown Day 1...

The Card Kit Countdown at My Favorite Things starts right now!  I am so excited to be here with my card for Day 1.  The dies in this months card kit are soooo pretty!  I love these stitched blooms.

I don't like to cut my dies apart.  In fact, when I can, I leave them all in one piece.  With the dies in this kit looking so pretty in one big piece, of course, I had to emboss with them!

MFT April 201 Card Kit

I took an 80 lb piece of cardstoc, because when embossing with dies, the thinner cardstock you have, the better impression and less ripping will happen.  I ran the whole thing through with the embossing sandwich and this is what came out.  So pretty!  I cut the front panel down and then added a little mat behind it.  Using fun foam, I popped that up on a white card base.  Next, I stamped and die cut 5 sentiments from More Essential Sentiment stamp set and the cut them in chunks so I could add one word in each color.  I added a few dew drops to the front to finish off the card!

MFT April 201 Card Kit

There will be lots more to see over at the MFT Blog. Head on over there to learn the details about the April Kit.  Thanks so much for stopping in today!

you're the cutest! {Spellbinders}...

Stopping in today with a quick and simple card using one of my favorite Spellbinders dies called Lovely Lilac Etched Die.  The die comes with 2 pieces.  The inner outline and then the large solid shadow die.  With these 2 dies, there are so many possibilities to create many different looks.

IMG_6230

First, I die cut the outline and then did some ink blending to add in the color.  Next, I cut another outline out of vellum...for 2 reasons...I wanted the color to be muted, but I also wanted to tip the vellum up for some dimension.

IMG_6234

I grabbed a white card base and added a piece of black and white striped cardstock along the bottom. I added the Lilac die to on top with some foam tape.  To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment and then added in some dew drops.

Here is a shot of the card from the side.  I love the look of the layered vellum....

Hope you have enjoyed today's card.  Thanks for stopping in!

CARDS

I have 3 cards to share today using the sets Best Dad, Best Mom and Story of Us.
(all supplies linked below)

My first card was created using the Best Dad stamp set.  This stamp set is full of the perfect images, all dad related.  I chose this adorable mug to create a simple background....

Altenew Parents Blog Hop

I stamped a sentiment on a rectangle panel and then popped one more mug up on foam tape.

Altenew has a set for mom's called Best Moms.  It includes the most amazing flower stem that I can't get enough of!

Altenew Parents Blog Hop

I scored the card base with random lines and stamped the sentiment in between.  I colored up that flower stamp with Copics and popped it up on the card front.  Last, I added in some black gems to finish off the card.

One of my favorite Altenew stamp sets is called Story of Us.  These beautiful blooms are easy to stamp and there are several gorgeous sentiments.

Altenew Parents Blog Hop

I stamped and die cut the blooms and leaves and added them to a card base lined with a strip of black and white striped pattern paper.  I stamped the sentiment, from the Best Moms set,  just above the flowers so I could keep a nice big area of white space.  I do love white space!

Shake it!

Hey there!  I am stopping in with a couple of Queen and Company shaker cards, one created with  the Pretty Presents kit and one foam front card. (all products linked below)

This first one was so fun to make!

Queen and Co

I used the foam boxes from the Pretty Presents Kit to create this card.  I used the Present dies too but cut them down so that I would just have the square frame.  I filled 2 boxes with Confetti and Sprinkles and the other 2 with the clear stars from Jewels Toppings. I added a glittery sentiment die to the front of this card to finish it off.

Queen and Co

This next card showcases the circle shaker foam front from the Circle Shaker Card Kit...

To create this card, I stamped a sentiment on the card base and then added the circle foam front, toppings and acetate to create the base.  Next, I used the Circle Foam Front Die to create the main card front.  I added in these gorgeous blooms to frame the circle shaker and finish off the card.

Head on over to Queen and Company to see more of their shaker cards.  They have kits and foam fronts and all kinds of topping to create your very own Shaker Cards.

I hope you have enjoyed the cards!  So glad you stopped in today.  Have a great day!
