Altenew November 2018 Stencil/Ink Spray Blog Hop

Hi friends!  Today I am joining in with the girls over at Altenew for a blog hop showcasing the newest stencils and ink sprays.  I was so excited to try these out, because if you follow my blog, you know I am typically a pretty clean and simple card maker and mess is hard for me.  BUT, I had so much fun making a mess with these stencils and spraying all the colors.  It was fabulous!  They are so easy to use and honestly, it wasn't messy at all.  I have 2 projects to share, which although they are stencil and inked and all colored up, still seem to be pretty clean and simple.  :)

PROJECTS

This first project uses the new stencil called Sunburst Stencil along with 2 new ink sprays, Lagoon and Cosmic Berrry.....

Altenew

I kept this so basic because I wanted that stencil to shine on its own.  I cut down a card front to 4"x 5 1/4" and laid it onto a card board box I keep in my craft room.  Using a card board box is the best, least messy way to use ink sprays or adhesive sprays or even glitter sprays.  Keeps it all in the box.  I sprayed Lagoon and the Cosmic Berry for a fun mix of both color.  After it was dry, I added the card front to the card base with fun foam for some dimension.  I added in Altenew's hello die with fun foam and a top layer of silver card stock.  Love that shine.  I added in some sequins and called it good!

This next card uses the new stencil called Wavy Grid.  I stated to spray this one and then realized I need a nice even rainbow look and then....hold on to something or at least sit down.....I colored in every square with a Prisma Colored Pencil.  WHAT?!  I know, right?  It was a tad bit of work for this faster crafter but I do love the outcome...

I added just a little shading to the left side of each box and then went back in with OMS to blend it out.  It was so easy to do and rather quick because of the stencil walls.  I added this white card stock thank you. on top of a black fun foam thank you for some dimension and a shadow effect.  I finished off the card wit some dew drops.

  55. Okay, so when I saw your first card, I thought for sure that it was a silver glitter paste that you had used through the sunburst stencil. I thought I had read wrong when you said it was Cosmic Berry and Lagoon, because it was reading so silver to me in your photo. It's still kind of messing with my mind, which just makes me love the card that much more. Thanks for sharing with us!

  56. Love these cards, especially the first one. Like the previous comment, I also thought you used silver in some way. In any case, it is absolutely gorgeous.
