Simon Says Spring Release..

Today is a pretty exciting day!  It's the spring release over at Simon Says Stamp.  I feel honored to be joining so many talented ladies today, to share all these new goodies!  If you want to start at the beginning of the hop, click over to the Simon Says Stamp blog for a complete list.  If you are following along, you should have jumped here from Jess's blog.  That girl is good!  I can't way to see what she has made up for today!

So let's move on to the card...I have a super fun new set with matching dies to share today.  The set is called Hourglass.  It features a pennant shape with lots of fun patterns.  You can also buy dies to go along with it.  Here is my card...

I stamped 2 of the images, one in Melon and one in Slate.  Then I cut out several of the dies in vellum, heat embossing a sentiment on one and then sewing them all along the edge.  The hello sentiment is from another new ADORABLE tag set, called Tiny Tags, that is a must have for your crafting stash!

I added in some enamel dots just for a little extra color.  Once I had the card front done, I popped it up on foam tape to the white card base.

Here is today's card...

I learned something from a Jennifer McGuire video on how to use a dauber to add color to stamps.  SO fun.  So of course, I had to try it out here on this gorgeous Avery Elle set called Thanks a Bunch.  I won't tell you how many tries it took me to get this all straight. (Cough...Four) Then I finally got smart and used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  Duh.  I added the front panel to the card after rounding the opposite corners with my corner chomper.

Here is this week's Card Concept....

Stop over to the Card Concept blog to see all the other gorgeous creations!  Thanks for stopping in and a huge thank you to the girls for having me as a Guest this month!

You fill my day...

The new March Card Kit over at Simon says is so much fun!  Here is a card I made the other day using the adorable crayon stamp in the stamp set...

IMG_1238

I paper pieced 2 crayons and then stamped the sentiment, which fits perfectly inside the crayon.  I added some layers of color from the kit and a matching "color" sentiment using Melon Fresh Ink.

A guy card and a color challenge...

Are you ready for another fun color challenge from Reverse Confetti?  This is a good one.  First let me show you the colors...

Cranberry, light blue and gray.  Hmmmm.  Where to go with this one?  I totally thought it would make a great masculine card.

So I went super CAS and made this....

IMG_1271

First, I took a 1" strip of fun foam and some Versamark and made big ole stripes in the background.  (If you follow my blog, you know I love cutting things out of foam to make my own stamps...hehe)

Next, I took the banner die out of the Tag Me set and made 2 small blue banners.  Then I used the same die to make one big long extended red banner.

(Can I just interject here and say that the Tag Me die set is a must have for your crafting stash?  When I think tag....I want to reach for these guys every. single. time.)

I scored each end about 1/4" inch apart and folded them in.  I took a sentiment from Sweet Thing and heat embossed with white powder to make it really stand out and done!  :)  A super easy guy card with some punch!

That is all I have for you today.  Stop by the Reverse Confetti blog and see what the other girls have made up for you, using these fun colors.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I took a 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 square of white card stock and die cut a heart from the Small Heart Doily die set.  I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx and the "smile" in Melon Fresh Ink.  I popped the white focal point up on foam tape after layering in some of that adorable Lawn Fawn paper.  Love those stripes!  And that's it!  Easy peasy!

This card was made using this week's Retro Sketch, which is an original to one of my cards.  You can see that one HERE.

Here is this weeks sketch...

So glad you could come by today! Thanks for stopping in!
