Hello there...

I was so tickled to be invited along on a special blog hop to honor a friend and her new little one!  Jinny Newlin just had a gorgeous baby bow and we wanted to shower her with cards today.

You may not now this, but Jinny and I have known each other since we were little.  We didn't realize that until recently.....long story and you can read it HERE....but it is very cool how we found each other and didn't even realize that we already knew each other.  Confusing I know...but such a fun story.

Anyway, I want to send huge hugs and contraulations to BJ, Jinny, Ezekiel and Adina on the addition to their family!  What an amazing gift from God!  Here is a little card, just to say hi...

I bad a banner and stamped the sentiment and then sewed down the edge.  I added in the die cut from my Silhouette.  I kept it simple by layering all on some blue striped paper.

And then a tiny duck to finish it off.

Here are the rest of the girls with some hello wishes for little Kaden!  Thank you so much for stopping by and Jinny, I can't wait to see you again...and that new little guy!  Congrats!!

The Card Concept #3...

Hey there!  I am here today with a card for this weeks Card Concept #3.  I am really to be guest designing for the month of February.

This challenge was to use monochromatic pink.  I pulled 2 different shades of pink from the picture and made a striped background with a stencil from Simon Says, blending darker to lighter.  I used a part of a die cut from Heart in a box and then the small love you die, layered on top in a soft gray card stock.

It's hard to see but I added in some vellum hoping to mute the colors just a tad.

So that is it for my first Card Concept creation.  This challenge is bi-monthly so I will have one more coming up in 2 weeks!  I hope that you get the chance to play along!  There is a lot of amazingly talented girls on this team, so stop by The Card Concept blog and check them out!

Heart Shaker Card...

So I was checking out the Simon Says blog the other day and came across this now very famous video by Laura Bassen.  It's amazing.  As always.  Her shaker card was awesome.  So I had to make one too....

Here is a quick run down of the how I made the card...

1.  I cut 2 pieces of card stock 5 1/4"x3 1/2" and used my Corner Chomper to cut 1/4" rounded corners.

2.  Using the Simon Says die called Heart in a box, I centered the die on one piece of card stock and then washi'd it down so it would stay, to make the top layer.

3.  Then I glued a piece of acetate using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to the back of the die cut piece to make the window.

4. Next, I lined the edges of the 2nd piece of card stock with thin cuts of foam tape.

5. I used the Mini Hearts die to make a BUNCH of hearts.  It cuts 9 different size hearts out, so I ran it though 3 times on 2 different pink colors of My Favorite things card stock.

6. Then I used the Simon Says Diagonal Striped stencil to make some pink strips by taking a sponge dauber and applying color.  I used Amuse Bubblegum and Sugar Fresh Ink.

7.  Last,  I ran the heart die over the striped piece of card stock another 3 times.  I added in some sequins from Neat and Tangled to give it a little shimmer!

8.  I ATG'd the shaker box to the front of the pink card base to finish the card.

Sadly, when I completed this card, there was no one to dance with....as Laura did in her video.  But I can see how fun these are and why they can bring so much happiness!  :)

I'm thinking the is the perfect valentine for my daughter!  I can't wait to give it to her.  Thanks so much for coming by today!

#100...

Today is a special day over at Retro Sketches.  Today is sketch #100!  And another special thing?  We have a sponsor this week....so there is a prize for the lucky winner!  :)  First off, here is my card...

IMG_1173

I used 3 Reverse Confetti sets for this card.  Sweet Thing, Go Together and So Stripey. I kept the true to the sketch but kept it a little more simple.  I love the orange and green and Reverse Confetti's sentiments.   I added in the "sweet" for a fun little extra to these adorable, stackable sentiments.

Here is this week's sketch...

Head over to the Retro Sketches blog to see all about this week's 100th sketch and all the prize info and all see what the DT has created for you!  Thanks for stopping in!  Can't wait to see what you make!  :)

Cuppa Cocoa...

Today's card is 2 challenges in one.  I am using a Reverse Confetti sketch and an inspiration picture from Curtain Call.  First off, here is my card...

Here is the Curtain Call inspiration picture.  As you can tell I went all black sheep on this one and used the cup as inspiration.  I saw 2 cups and thought of how I love to have coffee with my friends.  I love this cup and sentiment from Reverse Confetti.  And I colored it!  I actually used Copics today!  Whooo!

We have a fabulous new sponsor, My Favorite Things, for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Cuppa Cocoa challenge!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate to use at My Favorite Things!

I used Reverse Confetti's Be a Barista for this set.  I colored the image with copics and layered it up on some kraft and white and then some gray embossed.  All to match up to today's Reverse Confetti sketch...keep scrolling to see it!  :)
