Reverse Confetti Blog Hop

Hello August and Hello REVERSE CONFETTI Fans!  I am so excited to have been asked to join in with the Confetti girls today!  It’s the 8th of the month –Blog Hop time!  Are ya’ll ready to savor some sweet inspiration?  Grab a cuppa and take some time to enjoy this month’s creative Blog Hop from Reverse Confetti.  Last month’s release was fantastic and today we are inspiring you with projects and cards using those stamps and any other previously released stamps from Reverse Confetti.  Along with the Confetti Crew (our fabulous design team), we’ve also invited some extra friends to join in on the action!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Val Stangle's blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all of Reverse Confetti’s amazing stamp sets!

I have 2 cards to share today.  This first one uses Arrows 'n Elements and Inner Rock Star.

I cut out a shape from the Silhouette store with my cameo for the pink stripes in the background.  Then I stamped several elements from the Arrows 'n Elements set and cut them out.  For the main image, I stamped the guitar in Hero Arts Soft Granite and then stamped over it using the pink ink for the shadow and the black ink on top.  I added in a little black pearl to finish it off.

My next card is pretty CAS using stamps only from the Inner Rock Star set....

I stamped the wings, sentiment and record all in black and then masked in the "ROCK" with pink ink.  I used an exacto knife and cut out the wings so they would lift up.  I covered the inside of the card with pink card stock to match the sentiment.  To finish it off, I covered the record in Glossy Accents.

I thought I'd make a little video showing my 10 minute card.  I did 2 things wrong already.  I am on vacation writing up this post, and I left the picture of my timer on my home computer.  I finished the card in under 10 minutes but didn't actually stop the timer until 10.4 seconds.  The other thing?  I made a video and the whole time I was recording, the timer was not in the picture.  I promise I wasn't cheating.  lol!  So here is my video....

Your next stop on the hop is the sweet, Kryssi Ng.  Don't forget to leave comments along the hop to win one of these amazing prizes.....

PS-That is a card hanger die in the bottom of this grand prize picture.  ;)  You know...just in case you were wanting one!  hehe!

I hope you have the chance to play along too!  Stop by Pretty Pink Posh to learn more and to link up your own card!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great day!

Retro Sketches #75...

Hey there!  I have my card for Retro Sketches today...a day late.  :)

IMG_9995

I used the new banner set from PTI set called First Place, to make these fun stamped banners.  This sketch was based on an older card of mine, so I stayed with the same woodgrain background as before.  I added in some Soft Stone saddle stitch, a button and a tagged sentiment.

Here is this week's sketch based on THIS card of mine....

Stop over to the Retro Sketches blog to see what Arielle, Kasia and Claire, our headliner for the month of August, have made up for us!

Thanks for stopping in!  :)

Sketchbook Saturday...

I got a message from Chupa the other day to join in with her for Sketchbook Saturday.  Of course, I had to play along!  The sketch for this week has so many possibilities.  First off, let me show you my card....

IMG_9986.jpg

I used PTI's Background Basics: Retro for the background of the Berry Sorbet paper.  I added in a Simon Says Banner Die with a the sentiment.  The background is PTI Soft Stone cardstock and striped pattern paper.

Here is Chupa's sketch....

I hope you have the chance to play along with this sketch.  HERE is the link to her blog where you can find out more info and also link up your card!  Thanks for hanging out with me today!  :)

Watermelon.

Welcome back to week 2 of Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!  This week is a fun one.

I have a soft spot for watermelons.  My husband was raised on a farm and one thing they raised by the acre, was watermelon.  If you ask him....he is not a fan.  He has seen, picked and hoed one too many.  But after you raise watermelon in 40 acre patches, I can't blame him.  Me on the other hand?  I love them!  I  used to love to go out in to the patch and pick my own.  I could eat it everyday!  So I went right to the actual watermelon in the picture and this is what I came up with....

I made a frame using Lil Inkers circle dies.  I stamped a cute melon slice from a Clear and Simple set.
