Altenew September 2018 Washi Tape Release Blog Hop

Hey there Crafty Friends!  I am so excited to be hopping along with Altenew today to share some new products.  Washi!  There are so many new rolls of Washi that are absolutely gorgeous.  I have a couple clean and simple cards to share with you today and a super quick video to show you how to easily apply the washi to a card base.

First up, here is the gorgeous roll of washi I am going to use today....

Is it so beautiful?  This roll of washi is 4 1/2" wide and makes the perfect card fronts.  It also works for the most amazing die cut sentiments....

Altenew Washi

To create this card, I used a piece of Linen card stock for the card front and then added it to a white card base with fun foam.  Next, I covered a piece of cardstock with washi and die cut using the hello die from Altenew.  I die cut another piece of fun foam with the hello die and used that to back the washi covered sentiment to create the dimension.  Super clean and

Altenew Washi

On this next card, I used the Painted Fantasy washi to create the background....

Altenew Washi

After applying the washi to the cardstock, I added the card front to a card base.  I cut a rectangle of vellum and added the sentiment to the front.  I added a strip of Golden Edge Washi to a piece of card stock and then ran the sentiment die through the die cut machine.  This gives the sentiment a gold dipped look.  To give the background a little more muted look through the vellum, I added a fun foam die cut "you are loved" to the back of the vellum.  This gives the sentiment some dimension and and it just pops from the card!

Here is a quick video to show you an easy way to apply the washi to a card front...

Love how the velum is raise. Great job!
