Soda-Lightful....

I have a quick little CAS card inspired by Donna Mikasa.  She made a gorgeous watercolor soda bottle card while back and just love how she kept the bottles simple.  So I thought I'd make one too...

September MFT 2016

First, I did 5 swatches of ink blending in rainbow order.  Then I went through and positioned the bottle die on the best area of blending from dark to light.  I attached them all on a one inch strip and stamped the sentiment.  I thought they needed a little more detail, so I cut them in half and then ran a strip of gold behind.  I popped the panel up on foam tape for a little more dimension.

I just love these bottle dies and the coordinating stamp set.  There are so many possibilities for SO many types of cards.

What are you up to today?  Getting crafty?  I only had 2 patients at work today...normally I see 10....so I have had some fun quiet time to get some work done.  Hope that you are having a great day too!

The glossy ampersand...

I love ampersands.  I'm sure I have told you that in the past.  Several times.  So when I find new ampersands, I of course, have to buy them.  MFT has some.  CUTE ones.  A little pack of dies that is oh so fun!  I mixed one up today with Label Maker sentiments to make this card...

Print

I couldn't get a good photograph of the background, but I used the Chevron Cover Up with some Berrylicious ink to make a subtle background.  Then I added the large stitched piece from Blueprints 22.  I cut out 6 of the ampersands to make a 3D image and then topped it off with Glossy Accents.  I added in the sentiments, popped up on foam tape and then finished it all off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Hope you have a great Thursday! Thanks for stopping in today!

thank you kindly...

I am actually in my craft room today.  It is a disaster in here.  I really think that is what is keeping me away....well that and our crazy schedule.  Anyway, glad to be back in here and I have found 6" of space to work in to make this little card!

September MFT

I used MFT's Fall Florals, Pretty Delicate Poppies and Double Stitched Square Dies to create this card.   That and a little Berrylicious and Sour Apple ink.  :)  I inked up the card base and then added in the larger square die.  I stamped the sentiment on the smaller square and added in the Fall Floral image and some dew drops.  Super simple!

So glad you came by today!  Hope all is well with you!

Mason Jar Candle Holder...

So after I saw all the painted mason jars on Pinterest, I went and just had to make one of my own.  You may have already seen the first one I already posted on my blog.
You can see the Joy Mason jar HERE.  But I knew that the leaf dies would be perfect to make ones like I had seen on Pinterest.

So here is a quick run down on how I did this.  I used Enclosed: Leaf Die and cut out the shape with an adhesive sheet from Papertrey Ink.

I cleaned the mason jar and then adhered the adhesive die on to the front of the jar.  Then I pained the entire jar with chalk paint from Hobby Lobby.  After the paint dried, I peeled off the leaf label to reveal the window.

Next, I made up a quick fall tag using the Leaf Prints Dies and added some thick twine around the jar top.  I fill the jar with coffee beans and added the candle.  (The Leaf Prints dies would also work well for a smaller jar and leaf window!)

All of the Papertrey Ink Enclosed Dies would work GREAT for this mason jar project!  The apple die would make a great gift for a teacher.  That is the next one in the works here in my craft room!  :)

Thanks for stopping in!

PTI Release in Review...

Hey crafty friends!  It's release day over at Papertrey Ink!  Are you in the mood for Christmas now?  I sure am!  I started by making a candle holder to use this season.  I pulled out Enclosed: Bell to create this super easy mason jar candle holder.

IMG_1918

First, I cut the solid bell die out of a sheet of Adhesive Label.  I cleaned the jar and put the the bell label on the front.  I pained the whole jar with some red Acrylic paint.  I cut the outline die out of a Gold Adhesive sheet and then added that to the front.  Pinterest is full of painted mason jars and these are such fun and easy projects.  Here is one I was inspired by.

To finish it off, I made a tag so this would work as a gift.  OH....the jar has some beans in it and then added in a candle too!

Here is a card using the new Treetops Glisten papers and stamps...

IMG_1891

I added in some twin detail using the new String Frames dies.  Love those!

IMG_1892

Next, I have a get well card using the new Keep it Simple: Surgery set and Tucked In: Get Well.

IMG_1933

I added the bannered sentiment to the watercolor paper and a little silver thread to my card front.  I stamped the Tucked In sentiment on this inside...

And last, I used the new Deck the Halls set to make a fun little tag.

Nativity Inspiration

Are you loving the Papertrey Ink September Release so far?  There are so many fun new Christmas goodies, its hard to pick a favorite.  Today, we are showcasing the new Petite Places Nativity set.  I love having a Nativity to set up every year.  It has always been a tradition in my family to set one up before anything else for the Christmas season.  My most favorite, is the Willow set.  I love the clean and simple look with the neutral colors.  So naturally, I went with a neutral color palette for my CAS Nativity project.

I have a card, a set of tags and a fun little ornament to share today.

IMG_1901

First, a CAS card using the gray, red and white color combo.

IMG_1916

I stamped the Stable in a light gray and then the silhouette in a darker gray. Then I added in Smokey Shadow tree dies and a sentiment in red.  The background is embossed with the Medallion Impression plate for some added detail.

IMG_1906

This new ornament die is so fabulous and has so much potential for a dressed up elaborate die, or in my case and bright white CAS ornament.

IMG_1907

I added in the same colors for the silhouettes of the Nativity pieces.

IMG_1909

I used the window die, to add white paper in the back of the ornament just to keep the background white.

IMG_1908

Next, I did a set of 4 quick and easy tags.  I used Tag Sale #3 die for these tags, along with the new White Tag Stock....which is beyond fabulous by the way!!  I stamped a a sentiment from O Holy Night in Pure Poppy, added in a line stamp from Posted Stamp Set, and then stamped the same Nativity silhouettes in gray.

I hope you have enjoyed my simple take on the Nativity projects.  There is lots more to see, so stop by the rest of the DT's blogs.  Here is a list of stops to make!
