Lucky me!!

Long time no see!  I finally sat down for the first time in a week or so, and made a card.  I have been on a little Spring Break vaca in Colorado with the family.  Incredibly needed and now I am feeling like I can tackle the rest of the school year.  The kids needed a break too and are currently in bed....but have told me many times they don't want to go back to school.  Well....I want them to go back to school.  :)

SO, on to the card....I found a little inspiration seeing my friend Heather's cards on Pinterest.  I can't link to just one but if you follow her blog, you will see what I mean.  I love how she used little splashes of stripes in her cards...either with washi or stamps.  I added a little washi, a little splatter and a little watercoloring all in one here....

The butterfly die cut is from a Papertrey set called Life is Beautiful.  The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson called Fancy Thanks.  I added in some Copic Mist and some splatter and then added the stripped washi and gold sparkle washi to finish the card off.

OH and I almost forgot the butterfly.  I used some Tim Holtz watercolor paper and just did a little rainbow painting.  Then I used cut the die out and attached it to the card front.

So that is it for me today.  Lots of new and some news coming up soon!  Thanks for stopping in today!

SSS April Card Kit!

Hey there!  I have a couple of cards to share using the Simon Says April Card kit.  These kits will be shipping soon, so reserve one for yourself!

I have 2 very simple cards to share.  This kit has so many possibilities.  For my first cards using this kit, I picked the simple but fun route.

I grabbed 4 of the new Hero Arts Ombre Inks and came up with this...

I randomly stamped the ballon image on the card base.  I added the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx for a bold look.  These stamps have a slight distressed look, so they aren't a completely solid image.  Last, I found some sequins in my stash and added them in for a little bling.

This next CAS card really is all about those sentiments from the kit stamp set.  There are so many fun sentiments and they are super easy to line up (especially with a Misti...).  I stamped these in the Butter to Orange pad.  You can see a little bit of the distressed font in these sentiments too...

I added in a star brad and then 3 strips of the kit card stock.  Easy!

Holler if you have any questions!  There is a LOT more to this kit, including rub-ons and kraft and gold patterned card stock.  It's gorgeous!  I will be using that soon!  :)

Hope you're having a great day!

sending hedgehugs...

This little bitty stamp set from Lawn Fawn is SO much fun.  And you know...now that I am trying to color again (for the billionth time), I love these fun little images.  We had a crafty weekend recently and I was completely inspired by all the ladies and their big bags of Copics.  I wondered if I would try it again when I got home with my cups of 18 markers...and I did!  An easy image...but its a step!

So I cut out a Lil Inker Stitched Rectangle and lined it up in the corner of my Misti.  I lined up these 3 images on the grid so they were nice and straight.  I stamped them with Tuxedo Memento.  I don't know about you...but I am not a fan of that black.  My go-to black is Versafine Black Onyx.  It is so amazingly bold and perfect and next to it, Memento looks like a dark gray.

I proceeded to color these fun little hedgehogs and when I was done realized I still had my stamps lined up in the Misti.  People have been double stamping all over the place with the Misti and it works great!

So I put the stitched rectangle back in the Misti and added another layer of Versafine Black Onyx.  It gave it a nice bold look over the top of that Memento.  I also added a dot of Glossy Accents into that little heart.

Last, I added a heart onto the envelope.  I made a little 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 envelope to go with this little Mini card.  That envelope maker is such a great tool to have!

So that's it for me today!  I have a card for the Simon Says April Card Kit coming up soon!  :)

Have a great night!
