This is my second post for the day. Scroll down to see my CSS post.
We are all in the house for day 4 of Operation Snow Day. Just got in from playing outside. We had one of those old Turtle Sandboxes, so we took the lid and tied it to the Mule. I drove them around the yard and down the road. We had a ball but my fingers are a little stiff as I type this. (Oh, and let me clarify about the Mule. Some of you are picturing an actual mule. But it's not. It's the motorized kind. A Kawasaki. I do live in the country. I did marry a farm boy. But I do not own a mule....the four legged kind at least.) :)
So I decided this morning to play along with the AE challenge again. The inspiration picture is one I have used before and so I was excited to try it again. Here is my card...
I cut the flowers and the leaves all from my Cameo. For the Chevron, I cut out a chevron pattern on my Cameo, too, and then inked in the spaces. This saved so much time and I didn't even have to worry about lining up the chevron perfectly.

I centered the card under the stencil and then taped the stencil down directly to a white piece of typing paper. Then I took a sponge and some yellow ink and sponged the ink into place. The sentiment is from the AE Alphabet called Lovely Letters.
I like the soft look it gave too. It would be so versatile, because you can sponge lighter or darker, or even with different colors! Hmmm...I better go try that one next! :)
Here is the AE Inspiration Photo...
ETA: I am also turned this in to the Moxie Fab Chevron Challenge! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Laurie!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about folks thinking you were talking about sledding with a "real" mule! We live in the country too, and our neighbors use a Rhino! Thank goodness it's not the four-legged variety!! ;-)
Any chance you would tell me the secret of how you created that chevron stencil (LOVE it!)? I got a Cameo for Christmas, but I'm not too well acquainted with it yet! :-)
