I am dragging this morning. Are you? It was a late night. I am happy to say that I didn't eat any of my kids candy. I really wanted to but I left that up to my husband. Every time I looked at him, he was eating something. And he's skinny too. No fair. So here I am trying with all my will power....which I normally have none...and I succeeded in having one mini size Butterfinger last night...and that is it. Now its a new day and there are 2 buckets of candy in the other room. I do hear the snickers calling. But my goal is to ignore it. Let's see how long I can manage. I will let you know how it goes. It can be an accountability thing right? :)
On to my card....
This card is based on the sketch below by the lovely Lisa. I love these CAS sketches each week! I used CAS-ual Friday Stamp set called Big Thanks. I added some black leaves and rolled flowers and of course, some bling. Here is this weeks sketch....
Check out the CAS(E) this sketch blog to see all of the DT creations. I am so glad you came by today and I hope you had a fun nigh last night. We had a Trunk or Treat at church. I sat in the back of my car and passed out candy and asked Bible trivia. It was so cute to see all the little people dressed up and answering questions about their favorite bible stories.
Thanks so much for coming by today! Have a great day!
Lovely card. I like the dotted circles. And congratulations on resisting the candies. I love Butterfingers and my DH does not so I'm glad we don't have any of those around our house. With the candies we do have in our house my weakness is the Reeses peanut buttercups. Wish me luck resisting those.
ReplyDeleteLucky skinny husbands! I feel your pain Laurie! My husband opened our trick-or-treater candy stash on Tuesday and I did so great, I had zero! On the actual Halloween day, I can't say I did as well. :( Oops. (Love your card!)
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! I ended up with lots of leftover candy...I brought some with me to work today! :)
ReplyDeleteLaurie your cad is just gorgeous, those red rolled flowers are the bomb!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...the frozen reese cups are calling my name. I think there are about 30 of them between my three trick or treaters...yum! NOw...back to your card...loved it when you texted it to me and still love it. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to highlight the circles on the sketch!!
ReplyDeleteLove your take on the sketch! The red just pops off the aqua! Great card as always.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not a big candy lover. Snickers can tempt me now and then, as do the peanut butter cups but all in all, not an issue. Now put a bag of chips in front of me and that is an issue LOL! Be strong - you can do it!
This is such a beautiful card, love how you interpreted the design!
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE your card... perfect interpretation of the sketch, and the rolled flowers add just so much.
ReplyDeleteI got away with eating only one Coffee Crisp... but it's only the day after, and since my kids are little (4 and 2), it's not like they can eat it all, right? ;)
Love it Laurie! I hear you on the candy. I allowed myself one bite size Snickers, but that's it! And so hard when Reese's peanut butter cups are my favorite and the kids don't like them!
ReplyDeletePraying you can hang in there and just ignore the voices of the candy bars!! Love this card, Laurie. The flowers are stellar!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Laurie - love the color combo! Good job on resisting the candy as well. I'm lucky to be in Switzerland - I couldn't resist if I was back home in the states - but, like they say, out of sight, out of mind!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Laurie!!! I love the stamps you chose!
ReplyDeleteThis is so so pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! And awesome job avoiding the candy! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with those snickers calling.... Your card is so elegant Laurie, I adore it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job with the sketch!
ReplyDeleteI baked last week end and put everything in the freezer. It was suppose to be gifts for other people, and, I thought it would be safe frozen. Not so much -- it screamed my name too loud. Good luck using your will power -- mine died :) lol
such a beauty! the blue is unexpected (well to me and in a nice kind of way) and the rolled flowers are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSimply GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteI ate not one speck of candy corn...but ooooh the chocolate got me!! Be strong girl ;)
ReplyDeleteThis card is stunning Laurie, LOVE your pretty little rolled flowers!!
BEAUTIFUL! Love those flowers:) Great card, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteI caved in to the little candy bars calling my name! LOL! Love this card Laurie, the aqua color is so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother stunner, Laurie! Can you come to my house and make me flowers all day? I just adore them and can't seem to make one to save my life! ;)
ReplyDeleteYep, the candy really doesn't do anything for me but like Marisa....give me chips? They're gone. LOVE this card Laurie....those circles are fab!
ReplyDeleteI am not a halloween fan but I must say I much prefer the idea of Trunk or Treat! Love your card with those beautiful colours and those pretty rolled flowers.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love those stamped circles, and the rolled roses are just perfect accents here!!
