So recently, my friends Amy and Jen were here for a crafty weekend! They are both on the DT for Lil' Inker and so they brought their super cute Rainbow and cloud dies! I have been on and off the fence numerous times about these dies so while they were here I cut out several clouds just to have a little stash. I have been keeping them in a little bowl on my table looking at them everyday. Needless to say....I am thinking about caving and just buying them. They are so stinkin' cute!
Since I am back in the land of Internet again....going without is so hard...isn't that sad?....I saw someone make a cupcake using the clouds! Forgive me for not knowing where I saw it but it was sure not my idea! Whoever it was, had the cutest little cupcake and I had to make one too! You know since I have the bowl of clouds and all! :) Here is my cupcake creation...
The "happy birthday to you" is from Clear and Simple stamps. It is from the "A Guy Thing" set...a really fun set to have in your stash, I might add!
For the bottom of the cupcake, I used PTI's Bitty Background Blocks and then hand cut the base. I added a red felt cherry...also a PTI die...and a little stem out of black scrappers floss!
I have to tell the truth and let you know that I have had NO desire to stamp lately! In fact, I made this card here a couple weeks ago and am just now getting around to share. I have been getting stuff done for deadlines but other than that, I've got nothin'! I was just telling Jen the other day at lunch, I go into my room and stare and then turn around and leave! I am hoping it comes back soon! I have a lot of free time this week so I really do want to get crafty soon! Send me some mojo if you have some extra! ;)
So we are officially done with summer here too! We went to a water park in Salina yesterday and met Amy and her little one there! We had a blast! Amy talked me into going down a huge tube slide.....lets just say I was *trying* to keep my hair dry since we went out to eat afterwards....that didn't happen! I went down that slide and crashed into the water! I would have to say though....it was a highlight! A fun way to end our summer vaca! So I am saying goodbye to summer....and my tan! It's time for a little football now! :)
Hope you all have a great Monday!
Love the cupcake Laurie! Hope we see more of you around these parts now your internet is working. As for the mojo I'm guessing that even mojo less your projects are amazing. I find that once the littlies went back to school and I had more time that all of a sudden I felt inspired again - something I was struggling with in the summer holidays.
ReplyDeleteSo so so so CUTE!!! Love it so much! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I hear ya with the lack of Internet - I was surprised just how much I missed it when we lost signal the other week! I was itching to stalk the blogs again all week LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab use for the super sweet cloud die!
Sending you lots and lots of mojo (well all I can - I'm kinda feeling no inky buzz right now either! Must be that time of year! LOL!)
HUGS!

Love this - so cute. Very clever to use the cloud for the icing. Your mojo will return. You do such awesome work it just HAS to come back.
ReplyDeleteLove the card. Simple but cute. Brilliant to use the cloud for frosting. My mojo goes where your mojo goes (aka: casing) so I hope you get it back soon. Although, without your confession, I never would have know.
ReplyDeleteThe cloud for the cupcake top is such a cute idea! Glad to hear you enjoyed your summer and ended with s splash! LOL! I am so ready for fall, mums, sweaters and cute boots!
ReplyDeleteyou're so lucky to have each other as friends to craft with!!
ReplyDeleteOh my GOSH, this is adorable. Laurie, you always do something that I would never try and make it look so fabulous. I never would have thought that a white cupcake top with a white background would work, but it looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh Laura, your post really made me laugh today, I can just see the water slide scenario! Love your cloudy cupcake! Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteThat is an adorable cupcake. I recently purchased a cloud punch and was looking at it and thought that would make cool cupcake frosting. So now I just HAVE TO try it. I had the same experience a few years ago with the water slide. My kids said "Oh this is the slow one" Well, I still went splat! Lost my cap and my sunglasses in the water!!
ReplyDeleteI am seriously addicted to my computer and the thought of doing without sends shivers down my spine!
ReplyDeleteI totally love this cutie of a creation! Adorable Laurie!
You want to talk about stinkin cute? Your card is just so stinkin cute. I love it, like you I am on the fence about it too. Your card is pushing me over the edge. lol
ReplyDeleteLaurie, this is SO cute. Love the way you used that cloud die for sure.
ReplyDeleteSo stinking cute and yet another reason your are an idol in my book!
ReplyDeleteThis cupcake is adorable. Love that bright strip of dsp down the bottom too.
ReplyDeleteHope your mojo returns soon. Can so relate - I walk in and out of my craft room constantly these days. Sometimes I stop long enough to re-arrange or fiddle but that's about it - absolutely no creativity happening.
Perhaps I'll CASE your gorgeous little card here in the hope that I'll be inspired to keep going :o)
AMAZING Laurie!!! Brilliant use of the cloud die, and stinkin' cute to boot!!! LOVELY!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about mojo - I've done that a few times recently too. Felt like I might want to make something; head to the craft room; sit down; leave again because NOTHING is coming to me… such is the flow of the creative juices I guess :) Hope you find some mojo soon! I'm sure mine will come back during the move when I can't get access to my crafting supplies LOL!
So cute!! I love the cloud as a frosting too! And the sentiment you used is great, you're right!! It is different than what you see around and I really like that!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun with Amy!
Gotta say I much prefer the cloud cupcake icing to the swirly topped cupcake icing I keep seeing which reminds me of... well, something I wouldn't want to eat that's for sure!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just love every time I see someone use a cloud for a cupcake. It is the best idea anyone ever came up with. I love the felt cherry you added to this one. Those lil-inker dies are just too cute...I may have to cave soon as well, even though I have 2 different cloud dies already.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love the little felt cherry!!
