Yes, today is kinda like that for me....my own Stamp-A-Faire....here at my house. The only thing that's different is well, no PTI DT......and no new inks to play with.....no make-n-takes from Betsy.....no Nichole, Jane or Julie.....no fun goodie bags.....and I guess no free stamp sets. Soooo.....all except for those things....its a Stamp-a-Faire at my house! :) (Geez Debbie downer right?)
With all that being said, its still a totally fun (even though it may not sound that way after the list mentioned above.. he-he) time that me and my friends Amy and Jen try to do at least once a quarter! Either Amy comes here to my house....Jen lives 5 minutes down the road....or Jen and I go Amy's way....where there is much better shopping...but today they are coming here! And we are going to nix the Stamp-A-Faire and call it what we call it...Stamping-Away weekend! I am totally psyched, because there is nothing better than getting together with the girls who "get" all this crazy stampingness! You know what I am talking about right?
OK so enough babbling and on to the card...
I whipped this one up last night! I love love my Mehndi set! BTW...how do you pronounce this? I have just started called it "Mindy"....even though that may not be right, I think she looks like a Mindy! These inks you see here are from Amuse...can you say yummy? I have a beautiful chart from my super sweet Amuse consultant that shows an AMAZING comparison to my PTI papers that I love so much! These 4 colors you see here and just gorgeous and yes I am in love!
Well, I better go and get some cleaning done! With all the Gallery Idol hype, my house has been sadly neglected! Yikes! And I have company coming...why is this just now really hitting me? Gotta go!
Hope your Sunday is gonna be as fun as mine! :)
PS. Come back tomorrow around 1pm CST to see my latest GI card! Our theme this time? Fabric! I hope I have something that you will like!! Voting starts at 1pm CST too! Thanks for all the amazing support!! :)
Love the colors on this card, Laurie. I hope you guys have fun today. Oh, and I think it IS pronounced like "Mindy". :)
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL card, Laurie- such rich colors! I've been thinking about diving into the Amuse inks, too- especially after the PTI ink release was pushed pack again. I have so many gaps in my colors that I find myself sticking to neutrals A LOT! Can you email me your Amuse info- I'd love to check it out! {sweetsteph612@yahoo.com} Thanks, darlin'! Have TONS of fun today- I'm SO jealous!
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous card! I love the look of that "Mindy" stamp but haven't yet brought her home to my house. Love the colors you chose too. I do that same thing with house work for some reason I put it off til the last moment and then I panic realizing people are coming!!! LOL. Hope your day is great and lots of fun! I'm hoping to get to do some stamping after church, myself.
ReplyDeleteLove your card and YES, those colors are delish! Mindy...I'm calling my set that now:)
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie, love that you're having your own little stamping getaway with friends and shopping:) I was at Stampafaire yesterday and it was fabulous :) Lots of pics I need to download and everyone was so happy and friendly. LOVE the colours and layout of your card :) We used that stamp and it is yummy to work with :) I believe it's pronounced "Mendy." Good luck with the GI :)

ReplyDeleteLove this design. Next year I'm going to Stampafaire for sure.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, the fantastic layout is enhanced by all the layers and dimension. Looks great! And the set is a Men-D medallion.
ReplyDeleteYou've just described a little piece of heaven! I WISH I had inky friends nearby. There's just something creatively explosive about crafting in groups. Enjoy! Enjoy!
ReplyDelete{Love the peppy colors of your card, too!}
Gorgeous card, gorgeous colors, gorgeous stamping. LOVE it!!! Your reference to Mindy made me think of The Facts of Life--now I'll be humming that song today--LOL!

ReplyDeleteLove all the colors you used and teh layers!!
ReplyDeleteOkay Cinderella you better get to cleaning ....... I do not think any birdies are going to be helping out!!! Love this card of course because Mindy and I are good friends lately I bet we could be better friends if we invited Rita to the party LOL Love the colors ....... so bright and cheerful!! Rock on girl. I cannot WAIT to see what you created .......... good thing the girls will be there to help you make your final decision but I know it will be a hard choice since you created them ....... I know they are all perfect!!! xoxox
ReplyDeleteLaurie! That card is so beautiful! The colors are perfect (I definitely have to try that color combo) and the design is really fun! Maybe you should get it sketch design!?!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun day. Hopefully PTI will make Stamp-A-Faire an annual thing!
Aw.. I should have joined you girls...I was looking at the PTI blog and I find myself wanting to play the challenge. But no new PTI stamps, no...new inks....(Count me Debbie Downer #2).I'm glad that I can live that thought through your creation! I adore the stamping and the colors are so very pretty! Aren't you supposed to be working on some fabric thingy ?? Good luck!!!!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I love your work and this card is no exception! I call her "mendy" She is indeed beautiful! I was blessed to find someone on the forum who had ordered an extra one by mistake and she sold it to me while they were out of stock. I can see that happening to the sunflower next month, although the 200 people who were at SAF will possibly not be ordering it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I love the layout and that most awesome colour scheme. You work some serious magic with that "Mindy" set!
ReplyDeleteI really wish we could get amuse here in Canada. Maybe some day!
This is so beautiful, Laurie! I love the colors and composition. Like you, Mehndi Medallion is one of my favorite sets. Seriously, has $5 ever been more beautiful?!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this Laurie! What a fun design and super fab colors! I think I "need" those stamps, lol! Have an awesome time...so envious!
ReplyDeleteOh I just LOVE these colors! What a beautiful card! Hope you had fun stamping - good cleaning only seems to get done when company's a-coming!
