Love-SFYTT

So I was doing a little blog hopping for the first time in forever!  It was nice to have time to actually go through my reader!  So I found this blog along the way and a really super cute sketch!  You can go check out Jen's blog HERE!  And here is her sketch for January....


I had a customer call and request a special Valentines card. She wanted it mostly black, kind of "old world antiquey"...I am thinking to myselt...Can I pull that off? LOL!...so I found Jen's sketch, turned it on it's side and this is what I came up with! Not your typical cupid and heart Valentines Day card!

I used that Sheet Music IP again!  Love that thing!  I again smeared it with black ink and ran it through with Kraft cardstock!  To get the antiqued look I used Tim Holtz Fired Brick and Frayed Burlap!  Then I layered that with an embossed piece of black!  I thought the addition of the rose trim was fun!  I do love that stuff!

    Wow, this is gorgeous. You achieved 'old world antiquey,' but added a kick of contemporary to bring it to life. You have been doing some incredible things with that IP.

    Beautiful. I love how the music is kinda smeared and the rose trim adds some vintage"ness" to this! Great stuff!

    Holy moly- This card is BEA-U-TI-FUL!!!! Nailed the old world romantic feel!!! How do you work such wonders with the distress inks?!?! I just bought a few and am still getting used to them but I gotta say sponging was never my strong suit LOL!!! Gorgeous Laurie!!!
