Farewell for now....

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by today! Just stopping in with a quick one as I am off to get ready for my Chicago trip! I am so super excited to get to spend some quality time with my husband! This will be our 10 year anniversary trip and some well needed time off! And of course I can't WAIT to go on a quick trip to CHA!

I haven't scheduled any posts so I will be taking a brief vaca from blog land!  But can't wait to get back and put those fun CHA goodies to some good use!  :)

So glad you came by!  Have a great week!

Cards Blog Challenge!

For this weeks Cards Blog Challenge we were to make a card with a kite!  I thought...oh that is an easy one...OK not so much!  I had the hardest time ever!  It is supposed to be a challenge right?  Finally I made my own kite svg file on my Cricut and went from there!  So, here is my kite card....

I attached only the inside of each kite so I could bend up the outside to give it some dimension!

Once I got that done, I stamped some clouds in Vintage Cream and used some Scrappers Floss for tails.

And I love me some Basic Grey too!  I knew this paper line would make a fun kite in a fun color combo!  Thanks for coming by today!  Hope you are having a great Monday!

PTI July Blog Hop

Welcome to PTI's July Blog Hop!

"For this month's Blog Hop we are focusing on office supplies! We want to see you incorporate all of
those fun desk drawer fillers into your paper crafting projects. This can include paper clips, binder clips,
rubber bands, file folders, staples, binder rings, adhesive labels, post-it notes, index cards or whatever
else you can dream up. Reinvent these basic office staples to be hip and trendy additions to your
projects! We look forward to seeing your creations!"

So I went a little overboard and I have three projects to share!  Here is the first....

For this card I used the new Library Stamp.  I made my own little envelope to attach to the card front with the library card!  The closures are made out of 3/4" circle punches and 3/16" eyelets!  I added a felt scalloped border and some yummy dark chocolate bakers twine!  (The sentiment doesn't look to hot as my ink was a little watery but it worked!)

I also colored the paper clip with a Copic marker to give it that tint to match the eyelets!

The next project is a clip board!  I added some polka dots and paper lines from the It's Official set!
Stapled on some ribbon for a pen holder...easy peasy!

I love the Outline Alphabet!  I think it looks fun in white on Kraft!

Last one....a pin cushion!  I know maybe its not an actual "office supply" but my "office" is my craft table right?  So I have to have a pin cushion!  :)

I took a nugget tin and punched out the window.  Then I sewed felt squares together for the top!

I topped it off with a Dark Chocolate button!

Hope you like my projects!  I can't wait to hop around and see more "Office supplies"!

A little Copic fun...

So I sat down with my Copics and had to try some skin tone coloring!  I just got E000, E00, E11 and E02 this week so I had to try them out!  I found this adorable little image and she was begging to be colored!  (Love love all this new PTI July release stuff!   See the background?  That is the new Impression Plate! And the blue background is the notebook die!  So fun!)

I don't think I did too bad, although I know I have lots to learn!  I gave her just the slightest pink cheeks with E02.  Barb gave me this tip!  Thanks Barb!

So, next I had to try out some new colors on her and make her a blond....

I think this turned out to be a fun card!  I just love that Ripe Avocado paper and the Simply Chartreuse Ribbon.  They match so well!   (It looks like I didn't blend her face very well in this pic!)

Loving the Copics for sure!  It's really alot of fun when you can actually get them to blend like they are supposed to!  LOL!  Wanna see a super FAB  Copic card?  Go HERE!  It will knock your socks off!

Have a great day!

Thank You

This new It's Official set from PTI is A-MAZ-ING!  I knew I had to have it and am SO glad I got it!  :)  Then of course the die goes with it so perfectly!  I just love this match up!  So here is a quick and easy card I made using both!

And I added a little distressing...I know...not my usual but I really like it here!

Can't wait to hear what you think!  Hope you are have a great day!

Keep Cool-Lawn Fawn

I got the new Swimsuit Season from Lawn Fawn in the mail last week!  I have made several cards with it so I thought I would post one!

I just love this set!  So many possibilities for sure!  I don't know if you can tell but the ice cubes have some sparkle to them!  I added a little Stardust Gel Pen!  Also added some chalking to make it look kinda "beachy"!

I hope you are all keeping cool!  It was over 100 degrees here in Kansas today!  And the 7 day is NOT looking much better!  I would really be OK with snow!  :)

Have a great day!  Keep cool!

Best Wishes...

So the other day my mom was here.  She is an artist and uses lots of mediums...oils, pencil, charcoal etc...BUT she has never used Copics.  So I handed her my bucket o' copics and she sat down with them.  Now it has taken me some time to get the feel of them.  There is definitely a learning curve to these things...at least for me anyway.  So imagine my surprise when I see she has this complete.....

I told her to drop the Copics and go home! LOL, not really! But ummmm....WOW!!

So this is my flower!  And remember I started this several months ago.  This is NOT my first flower like some people!

Needless to say, now she is hooked.  She will be buying some in the near future!  I can see this taking off and being a business for her in her Art Gallery!  Maybe she can give me lessons?

Scripture Stamps...

I am always on the lookout for stamps that have great scriptures on them!  I found one the other day at Hobby Lobby and I knew I had to have it!

I have been doing alot of the Nestie/Chalking thing lately as you will see in some upcoming posts!  I think it adds just the right touch!

I got this fabulous embossing folder at the Scrapbook Page in KC!  I used it on a make-n-take and then had to take it home with me!  I think it is a QK folder!

Hope you have a FANTASTIC Sunday!  May God Bless you greatly and give you the desires of your heart!

Paper Dolls Challenge #10

I have been very bad about my challenges on the Paper Dolls site here lately!  Really, I have been so busy I haven't done much of anything but play with kids!  But today it is so smokin' hot outside that I had time to sit...that and my mom is here!  She is keeping the kiddos occupied!  Thank you Grandma!

OK so back to the challenge!  My friend Amy hosted the challenge a couple weeks ago!  Here is her sketch...

And here is my take on this sketch....

Hope your week was a good one!  I appreciate you all stopping by!  Your comments always mean so much!  :)

Another 2S4Y...

Just in with a quick one today!  This is actually the first card I made using this weeks 2S4Y sketch!  I wasn't totally thrilled so I posted the other one first!  I added the black strip and the pearls and it felt more grounded!  And another color combo like yesterdays!  I just love this mix!

Hope you are having a great day!

Kraft, Ocean Tides, Black, Smokey Shadow and White...

I know that is a LONG blog post title but hey...why not right?  That is the subject of today's post!  One of my new favorite color combos!  And look!!  Its more than one color!  :)

Today I have to cards to share!  Both using this color combo!  This first one is a CAS card!    I have had this sticker forever with this quote that I love and I just had to use it!  I think it goes well with this CC.

This next card is for my friend Barb!  I have known Barb for a little over a year now.  We got to meet in person after finding out that we were both designing for TAC's catalog last year!  It was so fun to go through that process together and chat and text, and chat some more and text!  LOL!  So anyway, Barb has become such a good friend and I am so lucky to have her!
It doesn't feel like a normal day if we don't have a chance to visit!
For those of you who don't know, Barb is known for her "creepy" blog Haunted Design House but she has a "normal" (hehe) blog over at Foster Design House
Let me tell you though, she is the least "creepy" person there is!  She even knows I am not a fan of Halloween and she still likes me!
She has a huge heart and is amazingly talented!  I love her to pieces!  OK enough mushy..here is the card I made her.....(and a new favorite of mine!)

Thanks for listening to me go on and on today!  Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Sew Lovely 2S4Y

Edit: So happy to say that my card made the top 10 over at 2s4y!  Thank you so much for chosing my card!!  I am so excited!

I thought I would sit down to create something today during nap time and immediately found the new sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You!  Love it this week!  Here is today's sketch....

I instantly thought of Lawn Fawn for some reason and I just had to use the dress form from Sew Lovely!

I used the flowers from the same set to make my own background paper!  Since I am Copically challenged this week I pulled out my Prismas and OMS to color!  I also made my own ribbon ruffle!  I took 1 inch white grosgrain, stitched down the middle and pulled the thread through until I had a nice affect!  Super easy!

The colors in my photo didn't turn out right!  IRL the dress, buttons and background paper are a perfect match!  Other than that, I thought it turned out to be a pretty fun card!  I would love to hear what you think!

OH and I added the blog "Follower" tab on the side bar!  I would love to check out your blog!  If you would like to become a "follower" I can come and check your blog out too!

Thanks for stopping by!
