Altenew September 2018 Washi Tape Release Blog Hop

Hey there Crafty Friends!  I am so excited to be hopping along with Altenew today to share some new products.  Washi!  There are so many new rolls of Washi that are absolutely gorgeous.  I have a couple clean and simple cards to share with you today and a super quick video to show you how to easily apply the washi to a card base.

First up, here is the gorgeous roll of washi I am going to use today....

Is it so beautiful?  This roll of washi is 4 1/2" wide and makes the perfect card fronts.  It also works for the most amazing die cut sentiments....

Altenew Washi

To create this card, I used a piece of Linen card stock for the card front and then added it to a white card base with fun foam.  Next, I covered a piece of cardstock with washi and die cut using the hello die from Altenew.  I die cut another piece of fun foam with the hello die and used that to back the washi covered sentiment to create the dimension.  Super clean and

Altenew Washi

On this next card, I used the Painted Fantasy washi to create the background....

Altenew Washi

After applying the washi to the cardstock, I added the card front to a card base.  I cut a rectangle of vellum and added the sentiment to the front.  I added a strip of Golden Edge Washi to a piece of card stock and then ran the sentiment die through the die cut machine.  This gives the sentiment a gold dipped look.  To give the background a little more muted look through the vellum, I added a fun foam die cut "you are loved" to the back of the vellum.  This gives the sentiment some dimension and and it just pops from the card!

To create this card, I took the In the Spotlight Stencil to create this background.  I blended in a rainbow of oxide inks and the cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die.  I added in the hello die cut after I sponged some Gold Delicate ink along the bottom of the die.

Here is one last card to share using the dies from the kit....

MFT Card Kit

I used the JOY and the little star dies from the kit to make this card.  I created a ink blended panel using Candied Apple and Picked Raspberry.  I added a little splatter of white paint to the background.  Next, I cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle STAX die.  After stamping "Peace and", from the Handwritten Holiday set (not included in the kit), I added the panel to a scored card base.  I die cut the "JOY" and and added those right to the panel.  To finish off the card, I added the Silver Glitter cardstock stars, to give it a little bling.

MFT Card Kit

MFT Card Kit Countdown Day 2...

It's day 2 of the MFT Card Kit Countdown.  Septembers kit is called Filled with Joy and its a fun one!

Here  is a quick peek of my 2nd countdown card this month...

MFT Card Kit

To create this card, I grab a Stitched Rectangle STAX and cut out a pink card front.  I added the little snow man face from the kit dies, along with a vellum J and Y.  I cut the snowman scarf and hat band from the Plaid Pattern Paper Pack and gave him a Gold Glitter Cardstock nose. Next, I ink blended up some white ink on the base of the rectangle and then added some tiny snowflakes in white ink.  Those little flakes are from the Handwritten Holiday set.  Last, I added the panel to a white card base.

MFT Card Kit

MFT Card Kit Countdown...

Hi friends!  Today starts the sneak peeks of the MFT Card Kit Countdown!  This months kit is adorable and has SO many possibilities.  Shaker cards, one layers cards, basic cards, intricate cards...so many options from one kit.  Today, I went clean and and simple....big shocker!  lol!

Here is my card for today...

MFT Sept Card Kit

The kit comes with a die set and a stamp set but I used just the dies today.  I die cut the word JOY from the set in Sno Cone card stock and then used the snowflake from the die set in silver glitter cardstock.  I added a little Peacock Feathers Oxide to the bottom of the J and Y to give them a little dimension.  After die cutting the Striped Sentiment Strip Cover-Up in white cardstock, I added that to the front of the card.  I popped the JOY up on fun foam to help it stand off the card.

MFT Sept Card Kit

Stay tuned for 2 more days of kit peeks before Tuesday, September 25th at 9am CST....Kit Release Day!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you tomorrow!

Window Shakers {Queen and Co}...

Hello there! I am stopping in here with a couple new cards using the new Window Shaker card from Queen and Company.  You guys!  This new kit is so much fun!  The kit has 2 different windows, a set of curtains, a window box and several more fun details to create the perfect window shaker card.  I have 2 cards to share today.

This first card is a clean and simple way to showcase this adorable window die...

Queen and Co

To create this card, I scored a white card base every 1/2".  I die cut the window and then added a stenciled cloud panel behind the window.  I stamped the sentient along the bottom in black in and then added a red heart die cut in the window to finish off the card.

Queen and Co

The shaker window boxes are so easy to create.  For this next card, I added an embossed brick wall in white cardstock on the card base after die cutting the window through the card base.  This way I could create an actual window on the card front.

Queen and Co

I created the window shaker box by adding acetate on both sides and filled it with 2 different toppings.  I tucked the shutters on each side of the window box and then added the flower box and flowers right below the window.

Queen and Co

Last, I stamped some hearts inside the card and added the sentiment to the front.

Queen and Co

That is it for me today.  The Window Shaker Kit is definitely a fun one to have in your stash. Head on over to the Queen and Company store to check them out!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Refresh Your Alcohol Markers Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey there craft friends!  I am so excited to be joining my friends over at Altenew for the Refresh Your Alcohol Markers Blog Hop!  I have quickly become a huge fan of Altenews Makers. There is a sale going on....I need to go shopping and buy some more markers for my stash!  Stay tuned and keep scrolling for the sale information!

Today I am using the Artist Maker Refills Set A.  I grabbed all 4 red refills, R302, R304, R318, R335.  I created a quick, clean and simple card using a little bit of a smear technique...

Altenew

To create this card, I stamped the flowers from Bamboo Rose Set along the right side of the background in a light gray ink.  Next, I used my spritzer and added in some black Copic "spritz" in the background.  Next, I grabbed the sentiment "proud of your strength" along the bottom in black ink.

Using the marker refills I created an ombre panel that I used to cut out this gorgeous Thinking of You sentiment.  To create the panel, I rolled up a 2" piece of fun foam to create a sturdy sponge.  I added each of the 4 red refills to the sponge by adding drops in ombre order.  I grabbed a piece of Yupo paper and then smeared the sponge over the paper to create the ombre inked background.  It was super easy to create and so quick!  Which is my kind of technique! Next, I ran the die cut through and created this beautiful sentiment.

Altenew

To create some dimension on my card, I grabbed some black fun foam and ran it through with the same die cut and then attached the ombre sentiment right on top.  I added it to my card using Tombow Mono Liquid glue.  I tucked right on top of the stamped sentiment so perfectly!

Altenew

That is it for me today.  Check out the sale below and then keep scrolling for TWO chances to win!
