Layers...yes I said it...

...Scroll down for this weeks Retro Sketches Challenge...

After my last post, talking about trying to add more to a card front, I thought I'd give it another shot.  This time I used PTI's new Strawberry Patch stamp set.  LOVE.  ;)

Here is my card...with a few more layers....

I stamped the background in Dark Chocolate and then distressed the edges with TH Tea Dye.  You can't see it in my picture but the red Mat Stack is stamped with the Envelope background stamp from HA.  I colored those strawberries after cutting them out with the dies...and then couldn't do it.  I had to cut them out.  Yes by hand Jen.  Sorry!  (Jen is not a fan of fussy cutting!)

I also realized after doing this, that my CAS cards are much easier for me.  I started this yesterday morning. And then spend lots of timing staring at it....wondering if I put things in the right place...or too many things....or not enough.  Anyway, I came inside for a bit and now I better get back out there.  Rylee just came in covered in mud.  I was only gone for 5 minutes.  Agh!!

  3. You did a great job outside of your comfort zone Laurie. I am so with you, when my cards get too complicated I spend far to much energy stressing about placement and colours and design. I hope you got a photo of the mud man!

  7. While your 40's will be the BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE seriously -- you are correct about family time -- my son just turned 18 and I can't believe HOW FAST those years went! Enjoy them -- they are only young a short time~

Meanwhile while I like your layered card, your CAS is the bees knees :) LOL
