Prayers...

I am in LOVE with the font of these new sentiments! It is a new set from PTI from Maile and she did an amazing job! I always have my eye out for unique sentiments with new and different fonts. I know I will be using these a lot, as they have quickly moved up to the favorites list. Here is my card...

Can you see the speckles on the card base? That is acutally from the Linen impression plate. Yes that thing I use ALL the time? Well now I've used it again but in a little different way. It's basically like the letterpress method but with out the actual impression. I just inked up (lightly) the impression plate with True Black ink, and then used it as a stamp. Just pressing the cardstock onto the plate with my fingers and then quickly pulling it straight up. (if you move it any, it will smudge)  It gives it that same look of the Linen but in a different way.  I tried it with several of the impression plates and it really adds a fun look to the cardstock!  But I am thinking this one, the Linen plate, is my favorite.  Of course, right?  :)

And then there are those flowers!  If you follow my blog, you know I am a rolled flower fan!  But these little gems are just as fun!  These are made using the flower dies from a scrapbook store I went to in Topeka.  Again, I am trying to get ahold of Amy so she can tell me the brand name!  If you know what it is, feel free to share!  But either way I will come back with the link!  These are long purple dies and they cut 6 flowers each, along with leaves.  They are SO cute!  Then you assemble each layer onto a brad.  Easy peasy!  I just stacked them up and then once I closed the brad, I bent the petals up so they look more like a full flower!  LOVE!!  I added the TANL die from PTI and a little pattern paper in the background!  SO fun!!

So glad you could come by today!  Hope you have a great weekend!  I hope you are enjoying the Clear and Simple Sneak Peeks too! Come back on the 5 for release day!  There is LOTS to see!

  11. Lovely, Laurie! Great idea using impression plates as "stamps." A die that cuts more than one flower at once is totally appealing, too!!
