Fabulous Fall

I am seeing some super cute things with the new PTI Framed set!  Mine is still on its way!  SO, I thought I would just make my own while waiting for the real one!  :)

Using Microsoft Word, I clicked on "insert text box" and formatted my very own "frame"!  I took a piece of Stampers Select, loaded it in my printer and hit print!  I love that if I wanted to keep that little blank space for the sentiment, I could have but for this card I just made a solid frame!  And if I wanted to I could have added a sentiment but instead I decided to use a Signature Greeting sentiment!   Doing it this way too, the possiblities are endless as far as frame size and decoration!  I might have to try this again!

So here is my homemade *frame*...

After looking at the card, I am wondering if this was too much white space!  You know after you stare at something long enough it looks funny to you?  So let me know what you think!

So that is all today!  Hope you have a great day!!

OH and what do you think about my new blog header?  I thought it was time for a blog makeover!  :)

  5. FABULOUS and SMART!!! Love the WG ....perfect!!! The green and red are perfect for the fall feel and I love your background in the photo!!! So now to other business. Did you use PTI paper for your framed image. I love doing things on the computer but cannot get my PTI paper to work so if you are not using PTI what are you using and if you are then what kind of printer do you have that will pick up the paper??

  8. First, I meant to comment on the new blog header yesterday. I think it looks great. I like the font on it alot, too.

As for the card, I think it's perfect the way it is but I know what you mean about staring at something too long. It's funny how that works. I cannot believe you MADE that frame. It totally is a great idea, but I would have never thought of that. It looks super cute. I might have to try that at some point. Of course, i've been walking around for a week with our dry printer ink cartridges in my purse so first I must stop st Staples to replenish and THEN I can make my own frame..lol.

  9. Love all the white space Laurie! And what a good idea to just print a box off the computer but I'm like Sue Ann what kinda printer do you have? Mine does not come close to even taking PTI cardstock!

  10. I have a Kodak ESP 5 Printer. It takes PTI cardstock really easily! It's an inkjet so I can't use copics with it but it works for things like this!

  11. Nope, not too much white space at all. I love the emphasis on the leaf and the sentiment-creates a great "resting spot" for my eyes:) And the new header is quite posh! Love it.

  14. You clever girl--love the frame! I love the woodgrain paired with the pretty stamped leaf, and I think the white space is perfect. I do the same thing with my cards, if I look at them too much I become more and more critical!

  20. No way! What a clever idea - you make me wonder why I didn't think of that LOL! Definitely not too much white space - it's a fab CAS card!
Oooh and if you want to create the gap in the frame using word, just draw a line (you can specify the measurement) and make it white in colour, then place that over the original black frame! Oh you've inspired me to try this!
